Search question - Nephilim

Trying to get thoughts as to why if I perform a Basic search of my entire library for Nephilim I get 395 results in 176 articles, but it doesn't find Numbers 13:33 in the Amplified. If I do the same type of search in my English Bible collection it does find Numbers 13:33 in the Amplified Bible which references Nephilim.
The search provides the By Book in alphabetical order which was completed on both searches.

Thanks Ted and MJ, I don't suspect an indexing issue as I can do a Basic Search on my English Bibles for Nephilim and it finds it in the Amplified, just not the entire library. No indexing has been on-going or incomplete to the best of my knowledge. It works on my XP box, but not on my newer WIN7 box. So I am not sure what to think [:S].
I can do a rebuld index again, but I don't think that will resolve this issue.

Okay, I have run several other searches on my library for items within the Amplified and still it doesn't show up. So something is the matter here. I have exhausted the very helpful suggestions on the forum without success (ran updated on resources, rebuild index, etc.). So far nothing has helped.
I need someone from Logos to help me determine what is going on here. If something as simple as this is not showing up on a search how can I trust that my library isn't missing something else that is relevant to my study????
So I need some serious assistance...HELP!!!
In Christ,

Did you ever install any of the 4.0a Beta releases?

Actually I have the same problem. I see nephilim in the basic search of the Amlified Bible but when I do entire library search, I do not have the entry from the Amplified. Thanks Kenneth for finding it.
EDIT: when I do just Bibles search, I get the entry.
EDIT2: I tried on my second computer (Win7, the first one is Vista) and it does exactly the same :-(

Bradley, I did on my XP box and brought it up to, I believe SR2, and it shows up on my XP box. The problem is I did a fresh install on my WIN 7 box and it doesn't show up there. I have no idea what's wrong with my WIN 7 install that is doing this. It's very frustrating since I have re-indexed through a rebuild, checked for updates, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well Thanks Bohuslav, I needed the sanity check...thought I was losing my mind. I just don't see why on my clean install it doesn't show up but my XP install that went through the whole Beta process appears fine. Makes me concerned what else is missing on my searches. Have you noticed anything else missing on your side?
Thanks for the confimation. If you notice anything else let me know and I'll check here. Maybe Bradley can perform some of his wonderous solutions [:D].

We ran into a similar bug during the 4.0a Beta; a database field wasn't getting updated so the system thought the resource wasn't indexed. I'll review the code to see if I can find any problems. What also would be helpful would be if you could send me your %LOCALAPPDATA%\Logos4\Data\...\LibraryIndex\LibraryIndex.db and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Logos4\Data\...\ResourceManager\ResourceManager.db files. (You can email them to bgrainger@.)
If my theory is correct, you should be able to fix the problem by deleting %LOCALAPPDATA%\Logos4\Data\...\LibraryIndex\LibraryIndex.db. That will cause the system to forget which resources it's indexed, so it will have to rebuild the entire index again (unfortunately). When I examine your files, I can also let you know if I think deleting this file will help; it's possible that the bug is something entirely different, and deleting the DB file will just be a waste of time.
One other question: when you open the Amplified Bible and click the Info button, what is the file name and version listed at the bottom of the panel?

Bradley, thanks for trying to fix the problem. My Amplified Bible is as follows:
LLS:1.0.681
2008-05-02T15:46:49Z
AMP.lbxllsI just installed Beta hoping the problem will be fixed after re-indexing. The problem stays the same. Even I merged index with one resource I bought some days ago.
I will send you files by email right now. Thanks.

Bradley, just e-mailed you the two files requested. My Amplified info is the same as Bohuslav...

I got Bohuslav's files, but I didn't receive yours yet. Perhaps an overly-aggressive spam filter got them? If you didn't zip them up last time, can you please zip them and re-send them?

Bradley, Just resent the files in a ZIPPED file. Please let me know if you don't get them shortly.
Thanks.

Sorry, they still haven't shown up.
I checked Bohuslav's files, and they didn't show the problem that I was guessing might be there. (So deleting LibraryIndex.db wouldn't help.) The bug must be something else.
Is it only that one word that isn't found in the Amplified Bible? Does searching for "grasshoppers" return any of the results (Le 11:22, Nu 13:33, Ps 105:34, Ec 12:5, Is 40:22, Na 3:17)?

This is strange; it sounds like the Amplified Bible just didn't get indexed, yet you report results when searching a collection (which uses the same index). If you search the Entire Library for Nephilim with the Amplified Bible open, does the word get highlighted (with standard search hit highlighting) in the resource panel? Does that change if you change the results from being sorted "By Rank" to "By Book"?
Are results returned from the Amplified Bible if you search All Open Resources (with it open)? Is the word highlighted in the resource in this scenario?

Yes, see image...

By Rank it is in the list (see image)...

Yes

So hopefully that helps. It looks like the By Book is the only time it is missing. Interesting the Result counts are the same which begs the question...Is the search count taking the Amplified hit into account but for some reason is not displaying it?

Curiouser and curiouser...
I notice that there are only 176 articles in the "By Book" results, which isn't too many. If you examine both pages of results, is the Amplified Bible nowhere to be found? That is, can we rule out that it's displayed in the results, but is displayed out of order (e.g., listed under "T"). To the best of your knowledge, did you ever edit the title of this resource in My Library?

...so we are still fighting the giants=Nephilim? Great. [:D]
I checked it Bradley few times yesterday and, no, I did not find it in all 3 pages of results. Strange, isn't it.
EDIT: Yes, I see it in the Ranked list. Just the By Books list it disappears.

Yes Bradley I find the count low as I seem to recall it having more, but am not certain. I have examined both pages of the By Book results and no the Amplified is no where on the list. I did think about it being listed under possibly "The Amplified", but it isn't. Curious thing though is that on doing a Basic search of the Entire Library, the Amplified isn't there in the By Book view, but is in the By Rank view. That is with the same results and article counts (hmmm).
No I have not edited the title of the resource. I did add a shortened name AMP to it, but that was done way back in the Beta days.Bradley Grainger said:To the best of your knowledge, did you ever edit the title of this resource in My Library?

Bohuslav, have you noticed any other resources acting like the Amplified? I guess that is a concern I have, that if it is happening to one are there others that I just haven't noticed?
Hopefully Bradley will have something later today [:D].
Have a blessed day.

Status update: I installed your LibraryIndex.db file and searched with it. I was just about to reply that I couldn't reproduce the problem, when I noticed that although the Amplified Bible shows up, the very next resource from your screenshot (Angels: Elect and Evil) doesn't! I get the exact same hit count (395 results in 176 articles), so there may be a chance that this repro will let me find them bug.

I have found and fixed the bug. It's a bug in an optimization that excludes resources that can't appear on the 1st page (because their titles start too late in the alphabet); when such a resource is found (e.g, Young's literal translation), the bug causes the next resource (in the order they were originally indexed) to be omitted also. In your case, this is the Amplified Bible; in my repro, it was Angels: Elect and Evil.
It affects all Basic Searches sorted By Book in unpredictable ways, because it depends on the order in which resources were indexed, the number of hits that have been found so far, etc.
It'll be fixed in 4.0b Beta 3; we will also add the fix to the next 4.0a SR (because it's a fairly major bug). No reindexing will be required to take advantage of the fix.

Thanks Bradley for all of your efforts. I'll look forward to the fix on 4.0a b3 [:D]
