Search question - Nephilim
Trying to get thoughts as to why if I perform a Basic search of my entire library for Nephilim I get 395 results in 176 articles, but it doesn't find Numbers 13:33 in the Amplified. If I do the same type of search in my English Bible collection it does find Numbers 13:33 in the Amplified Bible which references Nephilim.
The search provides the By Book in alphabetical order which was completed on both searches.

Perhaps this might be an indexing issue. I do get "Nephilim" on both Basic search for my entire library and Bible search, for the Amplified Bible.

Especially if indexing was incomplete and running.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
Thanks Ted and MJ, I don't suspect an indexing issue as I can do a Basic Search on my English Bibles for Nephilim and it finds it in the Amplified, just not the entire library. No indexing has been on-going or incomplete to the best of my knowledge. It works on my XP box, but not on my newer WIN7 box. So I am not sure what to think [:S].
I can do a rebuld index again, but I don't think that will resolve this issue.

Well I ran a Rebuild Index and still no Amplified on a Basic Search of my entire library. Something is amiss...

Okay, I have run several other searches on my library for items within the Amplified and still it doesn't show up. So something is the matter here. I have exhausted the very helpful suggestions on the forum without success (ran updated on resources, rebuild index, etc.). So far nothing has helped.
I need someone from Logos to help me determine what is going on here. If something as simple as this is not showing up on a search how can I trust that my library isn't missing something else that is relevant to my study????
So I need some serious assistance...HELP!!!

Did you ever install any of the 4.0a Beta releases?
Bradley, I did on my XP box and brought it up to, I believe SR2, and it shows up on my XP box. The problem is I did a fresh install on my WIN 7 box and it doesn't show up there. I have no idea what's wrong with my WIN 7 install that is doing this. It's very frustrating since I have re-indexed through a rebuild, checked for updates, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We ran into a similar bug during the 4.0a Beta; a database field wasn't getting updated so the system thought the resource wasn't indexed. I'll review the code to see if I can find any problems. What also would be helpful would be if you could send me your %LOCALAPPDATA%\Logos4\Data\...\LibraryIndex\LibraryIndex.db and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Logos4\Data\...\ResourceManager\ResourceManager.db files. (You can email them to bgrainger@.)
If my theory is correct, you should be able to fix the problem by deleting %LOCALAPPDATA%\Logos4\Data\...\LibraryIndex\LibraryIndex.db. That will cause the system to forget which resources it's indexed, so it will have to rebuild the entire index again (unfortunately). When I examine your files, I can also let you know if I think deleting this file will help; it's possible that the bug is something entirely different, and deleting the DB file will just be a waste of time.
One other question: when you open the Amplified Bible and click the Info button, what is the file name and version listed at the bottom of the panel?
Bradley, thanks for trying to fix the problem. My Amplified Bible is as follows:
LLS:1.0.681
2008-05-02T15:46:49Z
AMP.lbxlls
I just installed Beta hoping the problem will be fixed after re-indexing. The problem stays the same. Even I merged index with one resource I bought some days ago.
I will send you files by email right now. Thanks.
Bohuslav
Bradley, just e-mailed you the two files requested. My Amplified info is the same as Bohuslav...
LLS:1.0.681

Hope the files and this helps. Thanks again.

I got Bohuslav's files, but I didn't receive yours yet. Perhaps an overly-aggressive spam filter got them? If you didn't zip them up last time, can you please zip them and re-send them?
Bradley, Just resent the files in a ZIPPED file. Please let me know if you don't get them shortly.
Thanks.

Sorry, they still haven't shown up.
I checked Bohuslav's files, and they didn't show the problem that I was guessing might be there. (So deleting LibraryIndex.db wouldn't help.) The bug must be something else.
Is it only that one word that isn't found in the Amplified Bible? Does searching for "grasshoppers" return any of the results (Le 11:22, Nu 13:33, Ps 105:34, Ec 12:5, Is 40:22, Na 3:17)?
Bradley I am attaching the ZIP files here.
No I have tried multiple words and when searching the Entire Library, and none of the Amplified entries show up - including grasshoppers.
