Any chance of Logos/Vyrso participating in this sale. I hate sending my money to the big river in South America. Apparently the sale is for this weekend only.

If you don't have time to mark down all 190+ just mark down Jesus on Every Page, I need it for a class I will be taking in 2015 and it is on my "watch list". Smile

Keith, I think like me you're based in the UK? Whenever I see a Thomas Nelson super sale advertised, I never seem to see the super sale prices when logged into my UK-based Amazon account. For example, when I checked the price of Jesus on Every Page today, it's quoting me £6.17 instead of the equivalent of $0.99. Is there something I need to do to see the Super Sale prices?!

(Of course I'm only asking this question on the Logos forums to enable me to buy Kindle resources not available from Logos! [:D])

I live in the good old US of A. I get my information from Gospel eBooks. They often have banner ads at the Gospel Coalition blogs. This seems to be one of those businesses that makes their money by linking to Am-zon.

Vyrso has been doing a good job at meeting their prices. Usually by 10AM Eastern USA time Vyrso reflects these sales. So I find it helpful to subscribe to this listing so I get a heads up on what might be on sale at Vyrso.

Thanks Keith. Might be US only deals then.

If any non-US Amazon account holders can see these deals, I'd be interested to hear from you...

Just visit amazon.com, and you'll see the discounted price (at least I can, from the Netherlands).

I hope Logos will do a price matching on these books. I'm certainly interested in some books on this list.

Even when I'm signed out of my Amazon account, and navigate to the US Amazon site, I still don't see the discounted price [:(]

Keith- if you see the sale on other sites (I.e nook, cbd, etc), then it is more likely to be a publisher offer that Vyrso could participate in. Amazon frequently sells books at a loss, which Vyrso will not match.

Since this was a sale on a particular publisher's list (Zondervan/Nelson), I assumed that it was publisher sponsored deal.

It seems that Vyrso is always playing catchup to Kindle deals. I will spot Kindle deals first thing in the morning and they may or may not show up later in the day on Vyrso. It's always a guessing game.

I have noticed the same thing. To their credit Logos/Vyrso are good at eventually meeting all prices. They also seem very response to the "friendly reminders", however, I have notice of late Vyrso has been meeting these prices on their own initiative--hence my suggestion posted this morning. Logos might as well be more aggressive in trying to pick up these sale. Every sale they take from Amazon and others is better for Logos.

    Alabama24,

I have noticed how frequently you have posted similar posts whenever someone points out to Vyrso there is a sale at other sites. Are you aware of how frequently Vyrso ends up actually meeting the price later in the day? We are all aware (even before you told us) that Logos/Vyrso does not have a price meeting policy. None of us have the expectation that Logos/Vyrso is under any obligation to meet or beat other retailers, but Logos/Vyrso does seem to appreciate the opportunity to gain our sales. I have frequently received a note of thanks from a Vyrso representative after I have posted.

Keith - I follow this much more closely than most. Vyrso does NOT "price match." They extend offers that the publisher makes. I have never seen an exception to this general rule. Feel free to gloat when I am proven wrong. [:D]

OK let's not call it "price matching" but making Vyrso aware of publisher's sales. When Vyrso is made aware of publisher's sales they lower their prices so that their prices are the same (notice I did not say match). [;)]

I'm sorry that we are not communicating... I am trying to explain how it works. When the publisher says: "Vyrso, you can sell it for .99, Vyrso does." When the publisher doesn't extend the offer to Vyrso, they don't lower the price. I use the same website you do. Everyday. Here is what I do when I find a book on sale I want:

I Check several other ebook retailers to see what price they have. When they all match (or are within ~.30 cents), there is a good chance the publisher will extend it to Vyrso. I then send an email to my contact to see if there is a chance to get the book on sale in Vyrso.

In this case, the books are on sale at the two largest resellers... but apparently no where else. (I checked three books at 5 different stores). My point in my first post was merely "did you check"? I have never seen a book on sale ONLY at Amazon be discounted in Vyrso... I'll send an email off to my contact and see what he says... I wouldn't be surprised either way. Sometimes the publishers want to funnel sales through certain vendors. For example: Amazon will put a book on sale for .99 today. Tomorrow it will be on a "what's hot now" list for a price between it's "regular" price and the .99 price point. Brilliant strategy. [:)]

Side note: I see that "Bad Dad's of the Bible" is included. I highly recommend the book. [:)]

I don't take the time to check other retailers. I did notice that B&N are participating in this sale as well. Perhaps if Logos would call they can participate as well.

Did you see my suggestion? It would be nice if Vyrso/Logos would try participate in all publisher sales and just send us out an email each morning.

They do (try to participate), but publishers don't always extend offers to all retailers. Vyrso also has a small team... kind of the "little brother" to Logos. [:)]

"Try" was not the right word. I know they try. It just seems that Vyrso is often getting in on the publisher's sales after the fact. I have noidea who these people are at Gospel eBooks, but clearly it is just one or two people who set up a web page and are participating in Amazon's program were you get a set amount for each sale that results from links to Amazon on your web site. I know a lot of Christian non-profits participate in this. Somehow these people are getting advance notice of all the sales.

It appears the publishers are often willing to work with Logos after the fact, it would be nice if they would just do so before and we would not have to check Amazon, B&N and CBD all the time.

Thanks for notifying us of the sale, unfortunately we won't be able to match the pricing at this time.

That is OK. I am sure we will both have opportunities in the future. There is no such thing as a ONCE IN A LIFETIME SALE. I will save my money and spend it on Vyrso/Logos books! [:D]

Sorry to hear that Zondervan does not allow Vyrso to participate in this super sale.

    Brian,

Did you see my post about a daily email on Vyrso sales?

    Dear All,

I don't say a lot but I do read the comments in the forums. I appreciated these comments here and knowing about the site at the Coalition Blog. I was not aware of it and was able to download the Themelios for July and in the Logos edition. I appreciate these updates. I owe you one. But you will have to wait, but I will let you know if I come across something, but then, I'm sure everyone will already know because you are so fantastic.

    [:D]
