Audio level on video files changed - Moment of Panic, live... and some feature requests

I had to play a couple of video files on Sunday - one from the Gideons, and one from our youth program. Both had audio. I set the levels in Proclaim on the sanctuary laptop to max on the files, then adjusted the levels in the sanctuary on my video mixer (Roland VR50HD) and audio board (Presonus 24.4.2) appropriately, and thought that issue was taken care of.

I went back to my office, where Proclaim was running on my office pc, and I noticed that there was an extra slide in the file that I didn't need, so I removed it. Easy.

What I DIDN'T notice was that somehow between the two computers running Proclaim the volume control on the video files had reset to minimum - and no sound in the sanctuary in the service, even though I had checked the sanctuary just before that.

I guess that means that the volume levels on my OFFICE pc were down, and when I deleted the slide in my office, it deleted the slide AND reset the volume controls on the sanctuary pc - right? That means that there is no locking on the files - that whoever has Proclaim open and makes a change can alter anything on the file. Right?  This would explain some of the disappearing songs and slides, order changes and so on that I'd been experiencing. It was driving me a little nuts (short drive, I know!).

How do we avoid this? It was a potential disaster - and as it was, was a little embarrassing....

So - some feature requests...

1) SOME kind of locking on the file so that we aren't making random changes.

2) Why is it that when you change the volume on one video slide it changes for all of them? They need to be independently controllable. Some files are really loud, some not so much.

3) It would be GREAT to have volume control on the iPad for those video/audio slides. We can already start/stop them, why not add control for audio levels. I control virtually the entire service from the iPad - that would be helpful.

Thanks so much for making a great program even better!

This is correct. Anybody who is part of the group can make a change to the presentation and if they sync the changes, it will change the presentation for the whole group.

The reason for this is that Video item volume is a user preference, so any video will change the volume to the last level of volume you specified. Thanks for the suggestions, I will pass them on.

    Thanks, Spencer -

Is another problem that I'm signed in as the same user on both machines? Do I need to have the sanctuary pc a different group member?

And don't forget the suggestion to have the iPad remote be able to have control over volume.

    Thanks!

No, this should not make a difference.

And don't forget the suggestion to have the iPad remote be able to have control over volume.

I published a case for it. I will give you an update when I get more info!
