What to do if someone buys a book for you w/their account ID
A friend of mine bought me THE WORD OF GOD IN ENGLISH and did not download it
but instead gave me his account info so I could download it, which I did.
But I can not get it to open in Logos 3 or Logos 4. Does anyone know how to open a book
someone else gives you?
thanks

Your friend will need to transfer the registration of that book over to you, which he can do by calling Logos Customer Service. There is a fee to do this transfer.

If he bought it with his account, then it's licensed to him and not you. He'll have to call Logos customer support and explain to them. Then they'll have to transfer it to your license.

If someone wants to buy you a book as a gift, they can call Customer Service and order it with their credit card but give your login ID as the person to whom it should be registered. Others here on the Forum have reported success at doing that. I don't think you can do it through the online ordering system, though.

As far as I know, there's no way to buy a downloadable resource for someone else. If it's available on CD or DVD, someone else can buy that and give it to you because it comes with a license key that you enter in, then it becomes licensed to you.
Edit: ah yes, they can call (as Rosie said), but it's probably Sales (and not CS) to buy a new item.

If they want to change the fee to transfer the license your could friend could request a refund and they you can buy the book under your license and he could pay for it. Either way a contact with Customer service is needed.

The other option is to kill your friend. I had a close friend in the church I was serving die suddenly. His widow wanted to give me whatever resources he had that I didn't. There were only 3-4. Logos had her fill out a transfer form and we faxed it back in. If the person dies, there is no transfer fee. (I guess that's one of the benefits of dying).
It used to be that you could not transfer downloadable resources. They changed that policy about 18 months ago after several of us protested.

You may be kidding but it does sound like it would be a possible solution. Just not advisable. [:D]

Well, in prison there will be a lot of time to study Logos, or not? [:P]

Well Bohuslav, apparently you have missed several cases recently where the death of one only garnered a hand slap and a probation period. The term justice is getting all wierd here in the states. I use as a strange example 300lb woman sits on 120 lb boyfriend and kills him after arguement.[8-)]
