4.0b Beta 2: Scan command broken?

I was trying to explain the scan command to someone, having never used it myself, so I tried it out to see how it works.

scan "C:\Program Files (x86)\Libronix DLS\Resources"

Nothing happened. No feedback whatsoever that anything was happening or had happened.

I tried it with and without the quotation marks. I do have L3 installed and that is the correct path to its Resources.

You must close and then reopen L4 for the command to execute. Sort of like 'rediscover resources' required in 3.0. No quotes needed.

Oh, duh. And I even had quoted that bit from the wiki about needing to restart L4 when I was explaining this to the other user.

I still think there should be some sort of feedback from Logos at the time you type in the scan command telling you to close Logos and restart it. Otherwise the user might be left bewildered like I was. I have already forgotten what it was like to do "rediscover resrouces" in L3.

I learned this the same way you did: staring at the screen wondering what was going on. I even asked about it on the forum and I only got 'I think you have to do this' replies. No one seemed to be sure or could remember. I was the one who added the line about restarting L4 to the wiki after my own frustration and discovery.

A notice like you suggested would be a good idea.

Yes, that too. After I restarted Logos, there was still no indication that anything special was going on. As far as I'm concerned the scan command is a scam! [:)]
