Custom Icons for Shortcuts

If I place a shortcut on the whatever next to the command bar, I would like the option to be able to give it a custom icon. I placed a shortcut for a "blank layout" on this bar (to speed up closing everything down. It appears as a very small, very faint, gray spanner. Not necessarily the most intuitive symbol for a "Layout"
