What is it?

Grammatical annotation (subject, direct object, etc.) only denotes the grammatical function an item fills in a given clause. However, semantic roles annotate a text for what an entity is doing or having done to it no matter what its grammatical function. A subject could be an Agent (the entity doing something) or an Experiencer (the entity having something done to it). Marking the semantic role makes meaning-based searching possible.Case Frames bring this to the surface.

How does it work?

Discover insight into the characters of Scripture.

See the dataset for the Lexham Hebrew Bible as it searches for David.

See the dataset for the SBL Greek New Testament as it searches for Peter.
