Here now is Faithlife/Logos CEO Bob Pritchett's press release this morning:
BELLINGHAM, Wash., October 27, 2014 — Logos Bible Software, a product of Faithlife Corporation, just released Logos 6, the world’s most innovative Bible study software. Logos 6 offers a brand-new lineup of tools and resources that empower Christians to study the Bible’s background, explore Greek and Hebrew, visualize the biblical world, and make new and exciting discoveries.
“Logos 6 is all about delivering insight,” said Bob Pritchett, Faithlife president and CEO. “Building on the innovations in Logos 4 and 5, this release offers new Bible study tools and interactive media that aim to dramatically change the way Christians study the Word. Logos 6 will impact pastors, scholars, students and laypeople all over the world.”
For pastors, one of the biggest wins is Logos 6’s ability to help them create better sermons, faster. Innovative tools like Visual Copy and Cultural Concepts equip pastors to create engaging presentations while they study and explore the cultural perspective from which Scripture was written.
“Logos 6 empowers pastors to take back their Fridays,” Pritchett said. “They can make new discoveries and share their findings in fresh and engaging ways — all in a fraction of the time.”
For scholars, tools like Textual Variants and Ancient Literature equip them to do intense academic research with ease — with a click, they can connect Scripture to ancient literature and study the Word side by side with original manuscripts and primary texts. Likewise, students can perform impressive research with new study tools, like Inline Search, Morph Charts and Text Converters.
The layperson will also find everything they need for powerful study: easy-to-use tools like Factbook, Everything Search and Interactive Media offer a deeper, more engaging look at Scripture.
“We created Logos 6 so that real people all over the globe could do better, more insightful study — no matter how busy they are or how little they may know about the Bible,” Pritchett said.
Logos 6 is the most advanced Bible study software on the market. Faithlife, its parent company, is the worldwide leader in electronic tools and resources for Bible study, partnering with more than 200 publishers to offer over 43,000 resources across the globe.

I think that there is a major pricing bug, the only new resource I will get by updating is the EGW lifeworks, but it wants to charge me $160, even the starter is $250 with nothing new at all.
I already own the L5 Silver SDA package and also have the Collectors in L6 so it has to be a bug as the EGW lifeworks is only $55 on its own.
Is this a known issue?

The datasets in L7 L6 [:$] are a significant portion of the upgrade costs I think. Okay - I'd just made a joke about L7 and forgot to reset my memory [:D]

L7?
As I have Collectors in L6 datasets should not be a problem.

I think you may be on to something Mike. For example, in my case, I own all of EGW writings with the SDA bible commentary, I purchased this with Logos 4 years ago. However, my EGW writings has 410 resources, the Logos 6 EGW works says 334 resources.
Again, I own this already, but when I looked it up on the website it wants to charge me $54.95 still! Even though for me I already own this and it would be a downgrade of a loss in 76 EGW resources. There has to be something wrong.

Strange, because if you own teh EGW + SDABC the 54.95 should be greyed out, meaning that you already have it.

Reminder: You do not lose resources. You keep what you own not matter how the packages change and you pay for what is new (when the system works correctly).

Ok, great, this answers my question. Thank you.
David, you are also correct. as well. It is greyed out.
MY next question is Logos still working on the SDA Gold package?0 -
Yes, I'm working on SDA Gold (when I'm not working on everything else). It won't be released this year, but it will have to be released before GC Session.

Could you address the point about the broken upgrade price when someone already has all datasets and only one resource missing.
Mike

Indeed. We are checking into that right now. The complexities of dynamic pricing defy easy assesment, but we will get to the bottom of these questions.

While we await answers, you might be interested in some background on the EGW Lifeworks. We've been in negotiations and discussions for more than a year--the White Estate has certain long-established protocols, and Faithlife has its own ways in which we must work in order to prepare and market our unique products. Our contract with the White Estate came just in time to squeeze into SDA Bronze and Silver base packages. My Reformed and Orthodox colleagues worked until about 9:30 one night with me using their expertise to adjust the SDA base package pricing structure to support EGW Lifeworks. Thanks to their help, we found success. Again, this would not have been possible without our friends at the White Estate going the extra mile with us. I'm so thankful for them and for my denominational colleagues here who all worked so hard to make this happen. The recompiling process has begun as a top priority item, and we'll keep you updated on that as well as the current dynamic pricing questions.

We believe the dynamic pricing issue has been resolved. If you discover otherwise, keep me updated on this forum. Thanks,
Martin

I am afraid that my upgrade price is still $160 for a singe $55 resource when I own all datasets.

Mike have you called in to Logos? It could be they may work with you on this. It does not make sense that you can get the new search engine free soon and the purchase a $55 resource later. In that case you are upgrading and getting the $55 resource and hence paying $55.
blessings...

I am more worried that people are buying a package at an inflated price if it is not fixed, that and being obsessive compulsive and wanting to own all the base packages[:)]

Dynamic pricing is an extremely complex automatic computation, so it's hard to decipher exactly why you are getting the price quote that you are at checkout. I've asked this to be checked again, Mike.

Hey Martin,
I purchased the package before you fixed the pricing error. Am I going to get reimbursed??

We are still working on the pricing issue. But definitely we can't let you be shortchanged. Stay with us on this and we'll make sure it turns out right.

SDA Gold . It won't be released this year,
My billfold just sighed in relief [:|] BTW, after I bought Collectors (and had SDA Silver V5) V6 Silver's cost was zero.

Logos 6 Comes with some new stuff, Datasets, and there are some new features in it as well. In order to buy an upgrade you need the Logos 6 Crossgrade. They quoted me about $160 for the upgrade, but then it actually came down to around $95 with their discounts I already had SDA Starter with all the datasets additionally. But then I changed my mind and got SDA Bronze and it was just shy of $300. I worked with them on the phone and they were quite accomodating with me to get me a good price on the total package. I think you can't go wrong, but I know they won't do you wrong, they're real Christians.

I agree the new datasets with the features and benefits make L6 terrific. I also agree that those sales people are great Christian colleagues here at Faithlife/Logos.
