New 6 and an email

Got an email announcing the new 6 since I had recently upgraded to 5. Well I held on for 10 plus minutes to be told that there was no free option, offered 2 pay for options. Don't you just dislike those sort of emails.

Marketing and I am in marketing also. Free is not often free.
I do enjoy the software every time I use it.

This sounds like a miscommunication. Sorry about that.

If you recently purchased Logos 5, you have a few options:

You can swap your Logos 5 package for the equivalent Logos 6 package. The downside of going this route is that you lose any books that were in the Logos 5 package that aren't in the Logos 6 package. But it is free.
You can crossgrade to the equivalent Logos 6 package. We'll give you a credit toward this crossgrade. Depending on how recently you purchased Logos 5, the credit could equal the amount of the crossgrade.

Its important to point out that the ENGINE which makes L6 work will be free in februrary (if I remember right). Thats probably the free option.

I always recommend befriending a sales person, and consistently using him or her for all of your purchases. I use Rusty Davidson - he's a good guy, works odd hours and so sometimes responds to emails even in the middle of the night. If you think you might make a purchase, or if you want a second opinion, send him an email and tell him Ken sent you

it makes him smile.
