Logos was downloading updates to resources on both of our phones and my tablet. using up almost all of our monthly data.
Perhaps under Settings, we could have an option for "Update via WiFi only"? I have several apps that give that option.
To be honest, this massive update was the first time it has even been an issue for me, and I did go looking for such an option. In the end, I turned off Mobile Data completely, until I had finished the download via WiFi.
I'm on the iOS side, but I had the same issue until I turned off my L5 library mobile selections. That might not be a workable solution for a large choice of resources; I keep all my Logos apps 'thin' ... an eReader.
The suggestion of WIFI vs cellular, not sure how workable since we use a hotspot (cellular) to ship WIFI to the mobiles. I still think courtesy is not a major interest at Logos, whether forcing gigs to a desktop or almost-gigs to a cellular.
None of my apps or desktop programs have ever been as badly designed in this area, as Logos. And it's surprising, given we're talking mobiles. This week ATT upped their gigs ,though they're still behind Verizon.
The app should only initiate downloads automatically on wi-fi as per https://community.logos.com/forums/p/74253/518503.aspx#518503
I wonder if something has changed - it would be good to get someone from Faithlife to comment on this
I use my cell phone as a WiFi hot spot for my tablet at church,, so the WiFi only option would not solve the problem.
At least we've clarified the issue[:)]
And your scenario seems to be the same as Denise's.
It is very disrespectful and bad programming to ignore the "do not auto - update apps" setting in the Google Play Store
It would be interesting to know if the intention of that setting relates to apps themselves or the resources used by them. I don't know if that is an intended distinction.
