Beta 3: Bugs in Bible Speed Search

Some bugs in BSS in Beta 3:
- It's not very speedy! A search for "I am" takes several seconds to proceed after each key press. I understanding searching for the word "I" is going to take a long time, but 31s before anything happens is excessive. Why not return results as they are found?
- Deleting the search string doesn't remove the results.

1. I do not have this problem. Mine appeared almost instantly.
2. When I deleted I hit the backspace key and had "I a" first and it returned different results. I then got the rest of it deleted and the "I am" results returned even though nothing was in the box.

Mark and Kevin, on #1 I am not as slow as Mark, but is definitely not instantaneous like yours Kevin. For me it is very choppy. One thing I did notice is that as I start to type in the search string, my sync arrows start twirling. I don't mind syncing, but this seems a bit excessive.
#2. Same results as you.

Are you sure that is not coincidental. Mine did not sync when I was typing just now testing this on a second machine.
BTW on my second machine it is not as immediate, but nearly so. That is to be expected since my laptop is more powerful than this cheap desktop system.

I don't have as bad a performance issue as you do, though there is some lag.
I still find that regular search is faster than 'speed search,' but not by very much. In both cases my hands are in my lap before the verses are displayed.

Yup, I tried it several times, I type, it twirls. I stop typing and and a few seconds, it stopped twirling.

I guess everyone else knew this already, but you are THE Mark Barnes. I watched your videos just to hear your accent. But thanks for them. I set up my layout very similarly to yours after seeing the video.

To follow up my original 'complaint' of the lack of speediness, it's to do with the output format. Here's a search for the word "I" in my top Bibles. I ran each search twice and recorded the faster time to ensure I was using a cached result were possible:
- Grid: 26.97
- Verses: 0.73
- Aligned: 0.31
- Analysis: 38.36
I can understand why Analysis takes a long time, and why grid is longer than verses and aligned — but not that long. I think you should either significantly improve its performance, or remove Grid and Analysis from Speed Search.
