Please...Oh please....make the Win version more resemble....cough...cough....this....

I know that this has been discussed before but seeing he A11 screen shots always reminds me just how "washed out" and HARD TO SEE....the windows version really is.
Notice how all of the buttons and commands "pop"? They are easily distinguised from the background?
Notice that you can see EXACTLY where the "handle" to scroll is because it's dark?
PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE.....can we just TRY to go this direction?

So this is why you are always hanging out on the L4Mac forum!!! YOU HAVE MAC ENVY! [<:o)]
Seriously, I agree with you. That was why I made yesterday's foray down memory lane with 1.XX and L3 I was looking for something easier on my eyes like L4Mac is.

I too would like to see more contrast between the active panes and the other open resources. The "handle" could use sharper contrast. As I age, this is becoming more of an issue.
I like the clean look of this program.
Thanks

+1 [Y] . Why are the buttons on the windows version flat anyway?
+2 for the scroll bars!!!
Also placing a "x" button to each tab would also be nice.

More contrast, yes! Thanks, Robert for bringing this up!!! It does look all washed out and to my emotion, somewhat lonely and lackluster.

On a serious note, to be honest this is what I love about the dual platform approach Logos has undertaken. There is stuff that is cool on both the PC and Mac side and I know both teams are working together to bring the best of both OS environments to bear.
PS
Notice our nice blue slider control? We can actually see it :-)0 -

Then I was asking for it from day -28 since it was a request of mine in the Beta testing phase. Remember, I had an entire thread on how to make improvements for those folks with visual impairments? Anyway, I hope it happens on the PC side and stays solid on the Mac side :-)Matthew C Jones said:Joe Miller said:PS

I nearly bought a MAC when shopping for a new laptop 2 yrs ago. The reason I didn't--Logos for MAC wasn't ready to launch and I couldn't wait any longer (computer died). Love this look[Y][Y]

I am sorry I did not give Joe his due credit. I guess I don't spend enough times on the forums. [:O] I missed that one and will try to hunt it down. The ZoomText software solutions aren't working that great for me.
I have not tried multi-monitors on my L4 installation because I don't have room for the 36" monitors where I have the desktop.
[Ted, I could not figure out how to answer your question about my monitors. I've got five 36" Behemoths - 3 are Gateway Destination with low resolution.]

well, no "credit" needed.. more to the point I wanted to suggest that this has been an issue for a long time and I hope to see some progress on the Windows side for those who have trouble seeing. I am really happy with the clarity of the program on the Mac side. Even the book print is much clearer than the older 1.2.2 mac version.Matthew C Jones said:I am sorry I did not give Joe his due credit. I guess I don't spend enough times on the forums.

At the Beta testing time, I gathered input from several other testers and tried to put it all on one page. If you do find the old thread, I know there was a collection of suggestion that maybe should be revived.
Blessings all!

More contrast will be cool, as well as a clearer indication of the active pane. But please don't add X's on each tab - they waste a huge amount of space, especially on smaller screens like laptops. The current single X at the top-right of each pane is very clean and very intuitive.
Making the scrollbar "handle" darker when hovered over is also a good idea, but I very much like the way the scrollbar "disappears" into the background when the mouse is not being hovered over it. Basically, for my 2c worth, keep the wonderful, clean look and add a little extra contrast to make certain things clearer.

I agree. I have several programs that use "skins" and they generally suffer the same kind of problems. I don't know if Logos UI is a skin, but it has that same washed out look. I like the olden days when programs pretty much used my Windows color preferences.

You can have the credit. I just want the darker interface. But you are right that we have been singing this chorus longer than most since we both have mentioned it many times.
I like the mac version for the following
1. High contrast
2. scroll bar is always there
3. Has the traditional look and feel of it's OS. I'd like that only with a Windows look and feel. So kill me. I like Windows.

Is there a possibility, that changing colors in Windows 7, will make the colors in Logos4 behave better???

Another way of looking at this is that clearly someone at Logos thinks the washed out interface of Logos actually looks good, because the Mac version is a little behind the Windows version, perhaps all you Mac users are fated for the same washed out interface we PC users have to put up with. I think it behooves us all to cry load and long--give us more contrast!

I'm sorry to dissent, but I like it as it is - I don't mind a change, but please make it just an 'option'. With the 'washed out look' all I see is the primary text - that's great!

Just remember that the ultimate aim is covergence. By the time it gets to beta, your Mac will be looking just like my PC... [:P]
Having said that, I don't like the low contrast either - and I'm "only" 34!

the problem is...I "get by" by tweaking all of the settings on my graphics card WAY DIFFERENT than any other app needs them....so when Logos looks ok....then EVERYTHING else is just about whited out...
When i switch back so I can use my laptop...then Logos is in a white out condition....
something is wrong here...I even have the two different settings hotkey'd ....Push Alt + L for "dark enough for Logos" and Push Alt + N for "the rest of my laptop"...

I have noticed people mentioning that the scroll bar actually "disappears", and I have read of things being in a "white out condition". So, I put together a wiki page with a simple monitor adjustment tool. If you adjust your monitor according to this page then we can be sure that everyone is seeing the same thing.
http://wiki.logos.com/Adjusting_your_Monitor
If adjusted correctly, you shouldn't have to be switching settings between Logos and your other apps. Let me know if this helps.

Darren,
Thank you for that; but it REALLY washed everything out.
Here is my issue.
Somehow Logos is different than every other app, and everything else I use...and so I have to switch...
The contrast level in Logos is very low and so I have to compensate.
I hope that's a little more clear...

THis may be a bit much to ask or maybe not but I would love it if I could customize the colors of the fonts and the GUI would take on all the default colors of whatever theme you have running in windows at the time. I like variety when it comes to color schemes. That is why I use WindowBlinds. It would be nice to change my theme for the windows color theme and have L4 follow along as all my other apps do. As it is L4 always has the same color scheme (accept for the limited ability to change the resource background color).
