I know that this has been discussed before but seeing he A11 screen shots always reminds me just how "washed out" and HARD TO SEE....the windows version really is.

I too would like to see more contrast between the active panes and the other open resources. The "handle" could use sharper contrast. As I age, this is becoming more of an issue.

On a serious note, to be honest this is what I love about the dual platform approach Logos has undertaken. There is stuff that is cool on both the PC and Mac side and I know both teams are working together to bring the best of both OS environments to bear.

Kevin Purcell has been hollering about this from Day 1. We older guys have failing eyesight and need a little help with contrast and snappy colors WITHOUT having to become PC infidels and cross into that Mac region. Please do give us pretty buttons and sliders.

I have not tried multi-monitors on my L4 installation because I don't have room for the 36" monitors where I have the desktop.

well, no "credit" needed.. more to the point I wanted to suggest that this has been an issue for a long time and I hope to see some progress on the Windows side for those who have trouble seeing. I am really happy with the clarity of the program on the Mac side. Even the book print is much clearer than the older 1.2.2 mac version.

At the Beta testing time, I gathered input from several other testers and tried to put it all on one page. If you do find the old thread, I know there was a collection of suggestion that maybe should be revived.

More contrast will be cool, as well as a clearer indication of the active pane. But please don't add X's on each tab - they waste a huge amount of space, especially on smaller screens like laptops. The current single X at the top-right of each pane is very clean and very intuitive.

Making the scrollbar "handle" darker when hovered over is also a good idea, but I very much like the way the scrollbar "disappears" into the background when the mouse is not being hovered over it. Basically, for my 2c worth, keep the wonderful, clean look and add a little extra contrast to make certain things clearer.

I agree. I have several programs that use "skins" and they generally suffer the same kind of problems. I don't know if Logos UI is a skin, but it has that same washed out look. I like the olden days when programs pretty much used my Windows color preferences.

You can have the credit. I just want the darker interface. But you are right that we have been singing this chorus longer than most since we both have mentioned it many times.

I like the mac version for the following

1. High contrast

2. scroll bar is always there

3. Has the traditional look and feel of it's OS. I'd like that only with a Windows look and feel. So kill me. I like Windows.

Another way of looking at this is that clearly someone at Logos thinks the washed out interface of Logos actually looks good, because the Mac version is a little behind the Windows version, perhaps all you Mac users are fated for the same washed out interface we PC users have to put up with. I think it behooves us all to cry load and long--give us more contrast!

the problem is...I "get by" by tweaking all of the settings on my graphics card WAY DIFFERENT than any other app needs them....so when Logos looks ok....then EVERYTHING else is just about whited out...

When i switch back so I can use my laptop...then Logos is in a white out condition....

something is wrong here...I even have the two different settings hotkey'd ....Push Alt + L for "dark enough for Logos" and Push Alt + N for "the rest of my laptop"...

I have noticed people mentioning that the scroll bar actually "disappears", and I have read of things being in a "white out condition". So, I put together a wiki page with a simple monitor adjustment tool. If you adjust your monitor according to this page then we can be sure that everyone is seeing the same thing.

If adjusted correctly, you shouldn't have to be switching settings between Logos and your other apps. Let me know if this helps.
