In the anonymous nineteenth-century Russian classic The Way of a Pilgrim, the pilgrim asks a staretz, or spiritual father, whether the Philokalia is “more exalted and holier than the Bible.” The staretz answers:
"No, it is not more exalted or holier than the Bible, but it contains enlightened explanations of what is mystically contained in the Bible, and it is so lofty that it is not easily comprehended by our shortsighted intellects. Let me give you an illustration. The sun is the greatest, the most resplendent and magnificent source of light, but you cannot contemplate or examine it with the simple naked eye. You would need to use a special viewing lens, which, though a million times smaller and dimmer than the sun, would enable you to study this magnificent source of all light and to endure and delight in its fiery rays. Thus the Holy Scriptures are like a brilliant sun, for which the Philokalia is the lens needed in order to view it."

I contacted Faber & Faber today (11 January 2018), as I saw two publication dates on various sites online.
One site listed a January 2007 publication date (obviously inaccurate), and another listed February 2018.
I queried Faber and Faber, and the reply was:
This (Volume Five) is currently scheduled for 2020.

It's about time!!!! We've (the readers of the previous volumes) been waiting for 24 years!!!!!! Of course, this is probably a false rumor, like the earlier ones, to take pressure off Ware and his associates who hear requests for volume 5. Rumors like this have appeared MANY TIMES BEFORE on the Internet and the last volume is never, ever published. I'll believe it when I have the copy in my hands. The delay is the number one reason I haven't become Orthodox. It appears to me that either Metropolitan Kallistos Ware feels the text contains things he doesn't want outsiders (or even non-Greek-speaking Orthodox) to know or he has decided to break his word given to the faithful, and other readers, in Volume 1 to translate the complete text into English. The Metropolitan has done many positive things for Orthodoxy and I have learned much from his writings, but, the refusal on his part to release the final volume is a major red flag to me, which troubles me greatly!!!!!!!!!! If I want secrecy and disrespect for the laity, I'll become Roman Catholic. If I want blatant lies and hypocrisy, I'll remain in the Evangelical Protestant world I was raised in!

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

There is no evidence of a refusal only rumors ... there is a great deal of evidence that some key deaths and employment changes hindered the completion of the project. I have been waiting for 50+ Years for a complete translation of the Philokalia. I've been waiting 40+ years for a complete translation of the Mahabharata. Unfortunately, I know in the latter case, the death that hindered the completion was the death of the only individual qualified to do the translation.

Hi, I'm only hearing about these books...

The books don't seem to be in Logos. It's a pity.
