Ok...

So I know how to create a Bible reading plan, using Verbum. I know how to set it up, in terms of how much of the Bible I want to read, and for how long. However, I am looking for a Chronological plan, that has the reader reading the Bible in chronological order. This is not not the same as cover-to-cover. The folks over at the Blue Letter Bible (http://blueletterbible.org), but it is a fundamentalist protestant site, and therefore, the Deuterocanonical are not supported. I would love to read Tobias, Maccabees, and the other Books and Chapters that define our Liturgy of the Word in historical relevance.

BTW, I actually find it much easier to read my Bible plans in the LifeChurch.tv (http://lifechurch.tv) "Bible" app, on my Android devices. They do offer both the DRV (Challoner) and the NABRE (as well as many, many protestant versions), all for free. Notes and bookmarks are integrated, as are tags. Reference material is not integrated, but forums, "friends," and discussions are. As I said, I utilize it for my daily plan reading, where I use Verbum and Faithlife for my research, reference, and in-depth study.

I also find the "Laudate" app easier to use, in Mass, and to look up specific prayers (I love the traditional Catholic prayers). It has the daily readings, directly from the Lectionary, as well as the Missal. I relied on it heavily after the changes to the Missal (still not happy with those). And, I still get dirty looks in Mass, mainly from the ushers (and my wife)!

If Verbum could do the things that those other two apps do, I would use Verbum/Faithlife, only, especially as I paid for Verbum, and the other two were free!

Thank you,

-Craig

    Craig,

Thanks for your feedback. You can find instructions for setting up a chronological Bible Reading Plan on our blog. This article was written for a previous version of the software, so the screenshots are showing their age, but the functionality is the same.

    Hope that helps!
