Is there any way at add text over video?
Pretend that the video is a background for a hymn and add the text that way?
You can add the video as a background to a service item (i.e. a Content Service Item). You will not get the video controls or audio (it will be a "motion background") but you can place text/foreground images on it.
Does this work for your need?
If I understand this correctly, it's a pretty serious limitation. We've just migrated from Media Shout in the last few months and have video soundtracks we use for some songs. So are you saying there is no way to do text over video without muting the sound? I am wondering if this is the case, why there is a volume setting in the edit mode for video backgrounds?

I feel your pain.
In the past I have had to rip the sound off a video - save it as an MP3 and then play (the now soundless video) with the MP3 as a backing.
Troublesome - prone to mistiming - but possible.
