Option to download updates isn't appearing in notification bar
This is with 6.1b1 on Windows 8.1
As the screenshot show I have some updates available but there isn't a link on the notification bar to trigger the download. I have seen this on various occasions in the past. I can trigger it from the "Download now" link in Program Settings

What if you click on the notification triangle? Will you get the link?
I also noticed that your notification is gray...it should be yellow. Maybe that's the issue why you can't see the link.

No - it didn't do anything

That could make sense.
I've triggered the download from Program Settings so no longer have the notification so won't be able to help provide any more troubleshooting information.

On my 6.0b system there was an update pending. The option to download did appear in the bar even though the notification was grey and there was no option to click a link in the associated popup to trigger the download

My experience with this:
The resource updates will show in the bar (with clickable link for download and later for restart). When the bar vanishes, the grey triangle remains with no clickable option. I usually then don't go through the menu, but click my shortcut for the Update Now command, which will bring back the bar.
I'm not sure, but I think I've seen this different for program version upgrades (will try to remember looking for it in the next beta). The indexer may bring a yellow triangle with the clickable option to stop it for 4 hours, but I didn't keep track of this - which is a good thing.

This is still the case in 6.1 Beta 6 on Win 7.
