Discrete GPU on Logos Mac

Logos 7 has started triggering the discrete GPU in my MacBook Pro again on the home screen in the past couple weeks. This was an old issue that was corrected a while back, but has resurfaced. Anybody else seeing this behaviour?

Rob,
I noticed this too, reported here
https://community.logos.com/forums/p/171743/992566.aspx#992566
I first noticed it in Logos 4 in 2012
https://community.logos.com/forums/t/52462.aspx
... the issue was resolved after a long time. Thankfully, it has been working since ... until the recent update [:(]
The main concerns I have are:
- It roughly halves my battery usage time for the day when using Logos
- heats up my MacBookPro, probably that will shorten it's life
After searching I found your post ... about 20 days ago without getting any attention. May be you should rename the thread as BUG: to get some attention [:)]
Hope it gets resolved

Yes, I have noticed this issue on my Mac as well. Bumping to draw attention to it.

I'm not sure if "GFXCardStatus" works with the latest versions of High Sierra or Mojave but you can give it a try. It supposedly will allow you to control which GPU your Mac uses. It's a free app and can be downloaded: https://gfx.io/

I am on 10.14 Mojave, it requires discrete GPU too (it did on recent versions of 10.13 as well for me too.)

Charles,
Thanks to confirm that the same Logos problem on Mac exist in High Sierra and Mojave.
I used to use GFXCardStatus in 2012 for Logos 4 to switch to Integrated Only ... stop using it when the author said:
gfxCardStatus v2.3 and above actively prevents you from switching to Integrated Only mode when any apps are in the Dependencies list (or if you have an external display plugged in). This is because if you were to do this, your discrete GPU would actually stay powered on, even though you've switched to the integrated GPU.
For more details and suggestions see here by the author: https://gfx.io/switching.html
It will be great if Logos fix this again which just came back in the last 2 or 3 releases of Logos for Mac. thanks.

Bump, hoping to hear from Logos. Thanks.
Currently my workaround is to carefully construct a Layout with Resources or Panels that do not trigger the Switch to discrete GPU for my day to day usage. Otherwise If I need resources or panels that triggered the switch to discrete GPU I will quite Logos after using them and restart again.
PS: This is only a problem to those of us whose MacBookPro has discrete GPU and have to be outside where it is really not very convenient to find Power Point to charge and to carry our charging adaptors along. I observed that battery hours is down by roughly half. It was fixed some time back, the issue just reappeared in recent releases. Thanks for looking into this!

My current workaround is to not use Logos on battery, but that's a really terrible workaround. The issue persists with Logos 7.18 SR-1.

Quick Follow-up: It's not mentioned in the patch notes, but 7.19 seems to have reverted GPU usage to proper behaviour.
