Trouble with duplicate reading plans - chronological Bible plan the issue???
I still am plagued by a large number (7 or 8) of duplicate Bible reading plans - all tied to one specific, deleted plan.
All efforts to delete them according to the method Dave Dunkin offered (touch through each to bring up to date on iPod, wait 5 minutes to allow sync to complete, bring up full version of Logos 4 on computer, force sync if sync not automatic, delete duplicate plans, sync again, wait 5 minutes, fire up iPod app, plans are supposedly gone) has resulted in either the same number of duplicates as before OR NEW ONES! And some duplicate new ones at that!
After about 8 different attempts to follow the steps over two weeks or more, I currently have Read ESV Jan 5, 2012 (2), (3), (3), (4), (3), (4), (12) on my iPod - yes, multiple 3's and 4's - all unable to be deleted after being brought up to date, synced, synced in Logos 4, deleted, and resynced to iPod. I should note that when they were synced to Logos 4, the plan numbers available for deletion there did NOT correspond to the plan numbers on the iPod. They were more like (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8) and (13).
I have had about 8 different reading plans for various books available on my iPod, 2 of which were Bible reading plans. The "straight through the non-Bible book" plans have never generated duplicate plans that were not deletable by the Dunkin method (and have not generated any duplicates in a long time). The "read straight through the Bible" plan has never been a problem.
The only duplicate generator was the Read ESV Jan 5, 2012. This was one of the chronological Bible reading plans shown in the wiki - the "More Elaborate" one that starts off with Genesis, but then keeps jumping back and forth to 1 Chronicles and so forth as it goes along. It was on days where there were Genesis-1 Chron-back-to-Genesis readings or vice versa where the improperly syncing and non-deletable duplicates seemed to be created most frequently - so I'm wondering if that's the problem - the non-sequential reading of the Bible causing multiple syncs DURING the daily reading of the plan??????
I eventually gave up on the Read ESV Jan 5, 2012 plan because of these issues and deleted it. But I still have all of its "satanic spawn" (I probably shouldn't say that about a BIBLE reading plan) residing on my iPod and would like to see them removed if possible. At this point after following all the guidelines I'm thinking that it has to be some kind of server side intervention to accomplish this. If this was a Logos 4 issue I'm guessing it would probably be easier - turning on logs and having them analyzed.
I have attempted to delete the iPod application and reinstall it 2 different times without it resolving the problem. Which really makes sense since the app was pulling the info from the "cloud."
I hope someone on the Logos iPhone app team can help. Thank you. And thank you Logos team for developing what is truly a wonderful app. Having Logos books (especially the Bible) on my iPod with reading plans has ingrained regular "upon awakening" and "before going to bed" habits that I have never been able to follow through with to quite this extent before.

Tom, I am looking into the reading plan problem but have so far been unable to determine the cause.

Thank you for the update, Dave. I am no longer "catching up" those duplicate plans, but they obviously are still residing on my iPod and I would at some point like them off of there.
If there is ever any need for me to catch them up or work with them so that you can analyze what's happening on your end as they communicate with Logos 4, let me know.

Dave - within the last couple of days, I noticed that all but 2 of those excess plans are gone. Thank you for whatever you did!
If there is some way to get the last 2 removed:
Read ESV Jan 5, 2012 (3)
and
Read ESV Jan 5, 2012 (4)
it would be great!
Thanks again.

Are you by any chance marking your reading plan read on both the ipod/iphone AND on the computer? When I did that, I did get duplicate reading plans listed. If I read and mark read in one and then sync, I don't get the duplicates.

No, I haven't (fortunately) made the mistake of reading from an unsynced plan that was marked read on another device. This issue is/was a problem with a particular reading plan (read only on the iPod) that kept generating duplicates, and then the duplicates would spawn duplicates. All my other reading plans have been fine. But thanks for trying to help!

I too am experiencing duplicate reading plans. I marked off that I had read on the iPad (which I typically do). It created a second duplicate, which I deleted on the Mac, I opened the Mac again and now it has a (3).
When I opened today's reading on the iPad, it wasn't caught up.
