Online FREE Bible College
For those who are "students" of the Bible and want to learn from some very educated bible scholars, then go to http://school.wvbs.org/ and register. The studies are completely free and enjoyable.
Pick a book of the Bible such as the Book of John and start. You will love the studies.
May the Lord bless you as you serve Him,

I did not notice a Doctrinal Statement- hard to tell if it is worth while for someone who may hold different theological perspective.

I was looking for a Doctrinal Statement also, but could not find one. The only information that I found to give an indication was found in the FAQ.

- sell or give away anything or link to anything you’re selling or giving away—including Logos products
- promote or link to competitors
- point people to other places that sell Logos-compatible products
- advertise yourself, your business, your ministry, your website, etc. (a tasteful link in your forum signature is acceptable)
- post Logos Coupon Codes. If you are aware of a special promotion Logos is running online, you are welcome to link directly to the promotion.

MJ:
I will stop posting on this forum. I only wanted to share something that was free (Bible College). I am 78 years old and don't debate, sell, or anything else you mentioned. Over the years I've spent about $8k on Logos products and am not selling nothing here. I have been a Logos member before they were named "Logos." I started with 3 1/2 inch disks with the software on the disks. This was about 1980.
My mission in life is to "make disciples" as our Lord has commanded. I have been doing this since 1970. I hope to do this until I go into my grave. (We all have an appointment with death. Disciples will not experience the 2nd death, but eternal Life. Praise His Name.)
Someone mentioned "PC" correctness. I have never been "PC" so I may stand out. I was a Navy Spy for 6 years in Europe and a "recon" Marine in U.S. Marine Corps. When I go to the congregation (with my wife) I carry my bible and also on my hip is a hidden weapon with a round in the chamber. (In Texas we have "open carry."). Again, I am not PC. If someone came into our congregation with harm on their minds, then they would have to carry him/her out. In the Marine Corps we have a slogan, "one shot, one kill." (I mention this because of the current news of the shootings of our Jewish friends and other churches.)
Someone mentioned "music" in their post. Anyone with any common sense would know that the WVBS group would not mention "music" in their bible studies. They may or may not have a lesson on it?? I have been a member of the church of Christ since 1976 and NEVER heard a teaching or sermon on instrumental music. I am sure some congregations may teach a lesson on it? The churches of Christ are completely "autonomous". For each congregation the ONLY headquarters is Jesus Christ in heaven. The churches of Christ are "overseen" by elders (two or more) with a minister. This is the way Christ started His church in Jerusalem when 3,000 were saved on Pentecost. The churches of Christ are in the "restoration" movement and hope to restore ourselves to the way Christ started His church on Pentecost in Jerusalem.
I will email to WVBS (if I can email them) to contact Logos to make their Bible Studies available to whomsoever wants them. I live in San Antonio, Tx and at this time know nothing of WVBS except that I've looked at their studies and I would rate them as tops in teachings. Years ago, I went to Bible College and also Texas Tech University. I am retired from IBM.(2005) I have studied the Koine Greek and Hebrew. I have examined WVBS for their quality and rate them TOPS.
I have only posted once on this forum that I know of and I am getting negative feedback. I don't know who you are, but just take me off the forum list if you have that authority.
May the Lord be with us as we serve Him,
Charles Jemeyson

Hi Charles,
Thank you for your service to our country, and for trying to pass along info about free discipleship resources.
Please don’t take MJ‘s reply as confrontational or negative....trust me, she’s as nice and helpful as they come!! She’s just conveying the fact that we need to keep the forums Logos-related. If not, the floodgates will open up and just about everything and anything will be up for posting. I, like many, hit the forums several times a day, and when I see a new post, I’m either looking for something new I can learn about Logos (from VIPs like MJ), or perhaps something I can help someone else with. I’m not really looking for anything else, especially anything non-Logos.
But we understand you probably didn’t know about the forum guidelines, and we appreciate that you’d take the time to share information you thought important with us.
May the Lord richly bless you in your studies. We hope to see you around the forums more often.

Charles,
I did not mean to upset you, only to point out that the forums are for sharing information about software. While I am not familiar with the WVBS, I am familiar with Boise, Eugene and Puget Sound Bibles Colleges, not all still active. My Grandfather and his uncle were responsible for founding several churches of Christ in southern Washington State. My father, uncle and cousin were elders. I state this solely so that you understand that I am not unfamiliar with the tradition and carefully never say anything against the tradition. I even go so far as to support those wanting a Stone-Campbell base package. But when someone not known within the forums, begins with a post that is outside the purpose of the forums, I suspect that it may be someone hitting every forum they can with their message. A gentle reminder of the purpose of these forums - Bible study software - often avoids problems and misunderstandings that require reporting abuse. I apologize for upsetting you ... that was not my intention.

Charles - MJ didn't mean to chase you away. Everything past her first sentence was the "forum rules" from Faithlife. She was just pointing out that we aren't supposed to promote our own churches, schools, denominations, etc.

You have actually posted 19 times! https://community.logos.com/members/12103/activities/default.aspx
Feel free to post again if you have questions about Logos. We'd be glad to help out.

Wow, I couldn't even remember that I posted before. I got an excuse, it was in 2016 and I am an old man. LOL I guess If I used the forum enough I could have seen I posted before.
thanks for the information.
No, I am going away and won't post here again. (If I remember.)
My wife and I do a lot of fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and are gone every year a lot. We go for about 5 months at a time in our RV and have done so for the last 15 years, so I don't get onto forums such as Logos. We continue our Bible studies and church both here in San Antonio and Corpus Christi, Texas.
I have been a "host" at Mustang Island State Park for the last 15 years. We stay free and I work for the park 24 hours a week. Therefore, I don't get onto a forum much.
My only purpose this time was to share the free Online Bible College. I didn't know it would cause me this much trouble. There are over 33,000 denominations in the U.S. and I guess if each posted on the forum it was be trouble so I understand why I shouldn't post this on the forum.
Thanks again,
In Christ,
Charles

God bless you CharlesJ - For your sharing the link and for being so open about your life. Unfortunately, those forum rules (or guidelines) seem to work better for some people than others. I've no idea about the US, its denominations or its religious attitudes so I for one have learned something from you. Take care Paul

I was looking for a Doctrinal Statement also, but could not find one. The only information that I found to give an indication was found in the FAQ.
Just to clarify this point, the Churches of Christ consider doctrinal statements as man-made. Therefore, you will rarely find any of their ministries having any sort of doctrinal statement or confession.

What's wrong with no music instruments churches of Christ?
Wrong question for this forum.
However, during the years I worshipped at a WITH music Church of Christ, several well-meaning brothers tried to "rescue me from that cult".
Do your Google research, and you'll find many people claiming that things are wrong with COC and especially ICOC. Don't trust a word of it. I suspect that most of them have never set a foot in one of these churches. They're well within orthodoxy.

You did not upset me, but thanks for your concern. Our minister is from Washington state and knows many in that area. His mother/father were members of the COC. What are the names of your relatives that started some of the churches, elders, etc. and I will ask Mark if he knows or is acquainted with them. Our ministers names is Mark Davis and is around 60 years old.
