Looking at the new packages, which are you liking and why?
I'm upgrading from Portfolio 7 and the jump to Portfolio 8 is fairly stiff but it includes the Anchor Yale Bible while I have had on my wishlist for years but it was just too much money. The cost of my upgrade is less that the cost of just this set alone.
What are you considering Michael?
Nothing gets my attention so far. I'll look a little more, but may end up sitting out on this round of upgrades.
I just finished indexing L8 Baptist Platinum.
I went from L7 Diamond to L8 Portfolio.
That's a big jump. What were the primary resources you wanted to get?
I went from Logos 7 Collector's Edition to Logos 8 Ultimate. Very pleased [:D]
I kinda would like to see what an Ultimate - Collectors would look like. For where I am right now, that might of been a sweet spot for me. A sub-ultimate collection.
I'll definitely be going with Standard Portfolio. Many items I've been wanting. There are also some good stuff in Reformed, Baptist, and Luther Port that I'm considering.
Unfortunately, my day job is getting in my way today. Should have taken off due to illness - Logos Addiction. That's excusable, right?
Actually, today I was scheduled to work but I am sick at home (really I am). The side benefit has been being sick on launch day.
Not sure whether to congratulate you or pray for you. I'll do both. [:D] Hope you get well and enjoy launch day!
I made the same move. AB and ICC have been on my wish list for a while, as well as TDOT, NSBT, and others.

Thanks. I appreciate both. [:)]

I made the same move.
Ditto.
I went from L7 Gold to L8 Gold.
It was cheaper for me than this set https://www.logos.com/product/3017/the-ivp-new-testament-commentary-series which is included.
Nothing exciting, but I enjoy the Acts-Rev of Geographic commentary. (I am terminally map addict [:$]) This resource is still under work, if I have understood right.
I went from Logos 7 Collector's Edition to Logos 8 Ultimate. Very pleased
+1 [Y] Pleased by 1,352 new resources [:D] that should be helpful for forum and Faithlife discussions.
Keep Smiling [:)]
I decided on Standard Diamond. It filled out some sets I already have and added quite a few resources, all for a very good price.
Ultimate seems to have disappeared... It was suggesting that I upgrade to that for north of $8k but now it's recommending Diamond. There was a problem though as at the bottom the "buy this stuff separately total" was the same with Ultimate as it now is for Diamond so obviously they were/are having issues.
I purchased the following:
I called in the order so that I could maximize the "first time" discount.

Still looking...

In light of that
What are you considering Michael? Still looking...
A wise strategy. Take your time.
Ha ha...great one! My wife doesn't find it as funny as I do though...she thinks we should click the link...
I was excited to see that the Smyth and Helwys Commentary Collection is available in some of the Baptist packages. It never made it out of pre-pub, so I figured it would never make it out.
So, JT (or anyone else), how does dynamic pricing work in a case like this? I'd like to take advantage of the "first time" discount, but some of the smaller denominational packages are almost entirely subsets of some of the larger standard ones. Will they add them sequentially to see how dynamic pricing affects the total?
It sounds like there are some significant improvements to the software itself, including some potentially very useful new features. I'm underwhelmed by the resources included in the packages, though. In the past it has seemed to me that when I upgraded to the same level of base package (e.g., Gold to Gold, Silver to Silver, Platinum to Platinum), the new packages included books that I was excited to get. This time it appears, to me at least, that all of the real action is with the features, and the new books that are included are a bit underwhelming.
I'm looking specifically at upgrading from L7 Platinum to L8 Platinum. There are a couple of nice things included, but the "New to you" under "Library Resources" isn't really rocking my world. But moving up to Diamond to get more resources is a big increase in price.
Knowing myself, I'm probably going to end up going Platinum to Platinum. But I'd be more excited about it - and willing to spend a few hundred dollars more - if the new resources were more compelling.
That's what I'm looking at. There are 2 collections included that are each about the same price as the upgrade. This should clear out a lot of my wish list and my pre-pub orders. Very happy! [Y]

That's what I thought as well. I did upgrade to Gold (that was as much as I could afford), but was disappointed in the new books...it was nice, however, that a free Mobile Ed course was included. Haven't looked at the software yet, as it is late where I live...so hopefully tomorrow.

Something like that. The price was significantly lowered for me.
Nothing so far of interest. Too many "bells and whistles" that I have no need. Some addins looking interesting; but they only come with higher end packages of which 90% I'll never use.
Methodist Platinum because of the commentaries. It has the ICC New Testament commentaries and the full OT/NT Libraries Commentary set. It has a couple other cool commentary sets as well.
When I saw the Methodist Platinum package I said, "They love me...they really love me..." lol
Orthodox Platinum looks pretty cool to but it was a bit to pricey for my budget.
It's still there, just type it in the search box.
Then turn away.

Is the free Mobile Ed course a course of the customer's choosing as long as it's within the $300 range listed (at least that's the amount I recollect seeing in the value/price column in the Gold library.)
There are 205 individual courses to choose from, some well over $300.
The "price" on the product page was likely an average estimated value, and does not reflect any price ceiling.
You receive a list of the courses eligible for the coupon you receive.
My favorite package is still a multiple purchase ACEL(O) package - Anglican, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Lutheran, (and a mythical Oriental Orthodox). I found the L8 package to be one of the more exciting in all my years with Logos/Verbum/Faithlife.

As one interested in the lower level packages, Anglican Silver is looking the best right now. In L6 I went for Reformed & Verbum, L7 Methodist, so this looks like the best to round out my library mix.
I think Anglican Silver offers some great resources as well.

It's got an enormous number of commentaries I don't own but want plus the complete library of Christian worship. I own one volume of that, and it's quite good. Including the full feature set, it definitely has the best bang for the buck of the Silver and lower packages, at least for me.
I cant seem to find ultimate. Whats the link?
Logos 8 Ultimate
Thinking of getting Standard Portfolio and Reformed Diamond, or Standard Portfolio and Reformed Platinum depending what the dynamic pricing is with some of the overlap between the two. Want to make the most of the initial base package purchase with the discount.
They gave a list of "suggested" courses, but then also gave you the option to choose from the complete list of Mobile Ed courses. The latter is what I chose to look at, and then made my choice from that list.

Well we can see who has the $$
*ignore my envy... praying for deliverance
I'd just like a little butter on my crust of bread. Either that or Ultimate. My wife and I may need to discuss this with a marriage counselor.
Actually, my dear wife sweetly says, "Whatever you need,Honey. It's OK." That makes the decision even harder!
I'll probably end up getting Reformed Portfolio and Standard Portfolio as I like a lot of what they offer. I'd grab the Ultimate package if I had $7k laying around, but alas I have no need for a second car payment
Wow! On one hand that is great, but then on the other that means its on you to carry the financial burden for it... oh boy.
My wife is like the insurance company- her first response is an automatic "Declined"
I'd grab the Ultimate package if I had $7k
Wow, my price is north of $11k
