Upgrade discount
If I order the upgrade including the library and the full feature set I get the feature upgrade for $110.76, If I just buy the feature upgrade on its own I pay $158.23.
We are told that the once only upgrade discount is 25% so it appears that the connect discount is an additional 5%, resulting in a total discount of 30%, which is fairly chunky.
Especially when buying multiple base packages (or the ultimate package) this works out well as you only pay for the feature upgrade once (which you arguably do not really need if you have a connect subscription) but you can get the 30% off the book value of each individual base package,

Take care - the 25% discount only takes place on the first purchase. So if you order multiple Logos libraries you won't get the 25% discount on your subsequent purchases (although Sales can apply the discount to multiple packages in the same purchase).

help I'm confused.
For base packages, when I "sign out" to see what the discount is without dynamic pricing is gives 10% discount.
when I "sign out" of the Full Feature set with dynamic price, I get no discount.
So where does the 25% come in?

Are you a FL connect member? If not, the discount only applies to a base package with feature set included.
If your are a FL member, you do not need to purchase the feature set to get the discount. Advise us if this is the case so we can help you figure out what is going on.

The discount is 10% for new customers, 25% for existing customers, and 30% for existing customers with a Faithlife Connect subscription.

Thanks John and Mark for quick responses.
Mark can you clarify what "existing customer" means? Customer of what. New customer of what? I don't have Connect subscription but I purchased have the Full Feature set under L7 and two base packages under L7.

Mark: The 25 pc is taken off automatically at checkout...You see the original price scratched out, + the 25 pc less price put in...….I just instituted a multiple package purchase by phone, + I DID NOT have to, as the system now does it.

What happens if there are duplicate books? Package 1& 2 contains the same set.....

You will never pay twice for the same resource.

This is true so long as you don't buy overlapping packages online in the same purchase. If you're buying two overlapping packages, you need to email or call sales to get the discount.

Mike, you only get charged once. I bought 5 Starter packages. For me, the one was 84 dollars; the other 4 were 10 to 14 dollars, as I paid for the NON-duplicate volumes found in each Starter.
Put two packages into the check out page. Write down the 2 prices + the total. Now, take the items to out. Put them back into checkout in reverse order. Look at the total......For me, the total was the same both ways. Gave me some confidence re the system.

The other exception is for bundles lacking dynamic pricing, which--happily--are rare.

Hi,
Since the discounts don't display separately any more, I don't think I have any way of checking whether or not the 30% discount for connect subscribers stacks on top of the academic discount. It did for Logos 7 and there were multiple threads about it at the time.
Could someone tell me if users who receive academic discount also receive a further 30% discount on their first purchase of a Logos 8 base package?
Many thanks,
Colin.

The "first Logos 8 upgrade" discount for most users is 25%. For Connect users it's 5% more (30%).
The "first Logos 8 upgrade" discount for people in the Academic Program varies by their academic role, but for Connect users with an Academic role, it's 5% more.

And for Verbum Now members?

Yes, Verbum Now members are getting the same discounts at Faithlife Connect subscribers.

Thanks very much Glenn for responding so quickly. One of my reasons for asking is to see if it makes sense for me to buy the biggest library I can afford first. I'm holding off until I figure out the new discount structure - I can't find any figures for the levels of discount on the website. Your response clarified that.
Can I just check: I got an email as a member of the academic program saying 'Save xx% on your upgrade during the launch celebration.' I assume that is my normal discount then the additional 5% be applied for my first purchase only.
Is that right?
Thanks again,
Colin.

Thanks for the discount breakdowns Glenn,
could you say a word about the different academic roles? I'm a phd student teaching as adjunct faculty. I didn't realize that there were different roles so my academic status is still as a student - is there any benefit to changing this?
Also - from your discount breakdown, it seems there may be benefit to subscribing to Connect prior to the first time upgrade for Logos 8. Is this correct?
