How do the Notes Documents and the Notes Tool relate?
If I change things in my notes documents, will the change then also (immediately) apply to the Notes in the notes tool, and vice versa?
If I delete a note in the Notes tool, will it also be deleted in the Notes documents? It seems not to be so.

Changes made to your notes documents will migrate into the new Notes tool but not the other way. These changes should migrate across in a few seconds.

No - the sync process is designed to be one way. Changes made in the Notes Tool are not replicated in Notes Documents.

Changes you make in Notes Documents will be continually migrated to the Notes Tool, so they will be there when you're ready to make the switch.
But changes you make in the Notes Tool will not be migrated back to your Documents.
We strongly recommend you use one or the other (preferably the new Notes Tool!) not switch back-and-forth between them.

Just to be clear on what you are saying. (for me) From the Logos 8 program, what would be using 'notes documents', and what would be considered using the 'notes tool'? I want to be sure I am using the current method. Sorry if I am missing the obvious.
Also, is creating/editing notes from my updated android app using the current method?

If you open the Notes Tool from the Tools menu you will be using the new system.
If you access notes from the Docs menu you will be accessing Logos 7-style notes
https://www.logos.com/faq/notes will provide some useful context. And https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018336332 explains how to switch between them. But if there are features in the old system you still need - that aren't currently supported in the new one - its probably best to stay with the old system for now and not be constantly switching between them.

If you mean the 8.0 app then it is using the new notes system.

I use the export feature to send a whole (old) notes document to Microsoft Word. When I try to do that with the (new) Notes Tool, I only get the current note. Is there a way to export multiple notes in the new system?
Will the old functionality be available later? I don't dare switch to the new system until it does.

You can select multiple notes (hold down ctrl (windows) or cmd (mac) and click on the notes you wish to export. Then it will export all selected notes. However, you cannot export highlights at this time. Quotes is something, I believe, they are working on implementing in the new system.

Perhaps my setup is goofy, but I only see the current note in the notebook. There ARE multiple notes showing in the "By Date Modified" window, but they are in order by date, not by reference. Export only sends the current note, not all the notes in the notebook.
Second try, filter all notes for Bible Book = Isaiah. Same result--one note.
Third try, filter all notes for Isaiah Notebook. Same result--one note.

Has your installation finished syncing? Perhaps not all of your notes have come over yet. Also, if that has finished, could you send a screenshot of what you are seeing so we can know exactly what you are referring to?

That is the Notes List Pane and is where you select which note is displayed in the editor (right pane) or upon which notes you wish to perform bulk actions.

Order by Reference is not yet implemented but is the number 1 thing to be added next according to: https://www.logos.com/faq/notes

Left Panel: Filters
Middle Panel: Date Modified (more than one note, but in date order, not reference order)
Right Panel: The latest note.
The old system allowed me to export all notes in my Isaiah Notes Document.
I need to export all Isaiah notes at once, using the new Notes system.

Ok over on the left under "Bible Book" you would click on Isaiah and it will display all of your notes. You can then mass select the notes attached to Isaiah to print/export. Am I understanding your problem correctly?

This is the NOTES LIST pane where you select notes(s).

Select Isaiah in the Bible Book facet in the filter sidebar. Now select the first note then scroll and shift-select the last note (caveat: limit of 100 notes can be selected currently). The right pane will change from the editor to the bulk actions pane. Ctrl/Cmd+P to export.

The update is not very useful as delivered. At least the feature is at the top of the list. (Back to work, developers. Sleep is overrated.)
