New typeface?
I'm a typography nerd so the new typeface was the first thing I noticed about Logos 8. At first I didn't like it but it's kind of growing on me. I've poked around and been unable to figure out which typeface it is? I really loved Skolar, so I'm also curious if there's any official PR statement about why it was changed?

I believe it's called Sirba

Richard is right. The font family is called Sirba.
I don't believe there is any official statement I can point you to. But, I can say it was part of the overall refresh given to the look/feel of Logos. It has a lot going for it including excellent support for high DPI rendering. In house Greek users really enjoyed its handling of Greek text as well.

It grew on me too. I hated it when I first started using it, but after a lot of use, I love it.

If you don't like it, the L7 font (Skolar) is still available in Program Settings.

I remember disliking the Logos 4 font compared to Logos Libronix 3. Now I am used to the font and find the old Libronix font a bit rough. I did change the Greek font, however.

The Sirba font strikes me as open, sturdy, free, confident and warm. Very readable without being distracting. I like it a lot.

Glad you like it! It's especially nice on high-DPI displays like most phones, tablets, and 4K monitors.

That was my experience, and many others’ as well.

I use Open Sans and SBL Biblit for the Greek and Hebrew. Loose spacing. I love the customisability!

Is this the same font used in the latest ios version of Logos? I just noticed today that it's no longer Skolar.

I'm not sure if it is used in mobile device apps, If you don't get an answer here, ask in the Mobile Device forum.

Yes, the Logos 8 apps on mobile use the same font as the desktop (i.e., Sirba).
