Ok, it took me about 5 minutes to brush against the close all panels button (touch screen). Can we have an "are you sure?" dialog or a way to disable it?
It been in the same spot for years without creating problems. Are you new to Logos or are you on a small screen? If neither of those, can you tell us what makes it more problematic in L8? I need to understand what makes it a problem before I can say what is a good answer.
The layouts button used to be much bigger so my finger didn't have to be so accurate to hit the right one.

When you use the "Close All" button, you should get a snapshot of your last layout listed in the Layouts menu just to the left of the "Close All" button. Selecting that will let you undo and accidental closing.
