Theology Guide Recommended Reading Weighted towards Unpurchased Resources

Is it just me or does recommended reading always want me to buy new resources?

I appreciate that recommended resources includes suggestions for books I have not yet purchased. This can be quite helpful. However, it sometimes seems that it is so heavily weighted towards marketing resources I don't have.

For example a search on 'Jesus’ Accomplishment of Salvation' throws up only three recommended reads, all of which I don't own. Surely there must be something amongst the thousands of resources I have already purchased that could be recommended. It's hardly an obscure topic.

It's just you??? The resource recommendations are not even in Logos much of the time. They are the resources that the author of the article considers to be highly recommended. You want Faithlife to say "give me your best recommendations that coincide with the most commonly purchased Logos resources?" ... As I see it, the latter would be more merchandising than the honest opinion of the Subject Matter Expert.

Based on the fact that I get the exact same results as you but own two of the three resources, I would say that they simply have a predetermined list for the topic. Doesn't seem to be about marketing. But it's not a dynamic list that's built from your library.

I think they said in the other thread that this section is hand curated. However, for this subject, that's a very sparse list. So much more could be listed and without too much of additional effort.

So far this tool is leaning very heavily in a specific direction. I hope that it is expanded quickly for broader use.
