Bible search specific/custom range
Sorry to ask such a basic question. I've searched and read through the help and wiki but can't seem to find an answer.
Is there a way to limit a search to a specific part of the Bible WITHOUT using the "common divisions" supplied by Logos? I want to limit the search range by typing in the search field.
For instance, I'd like to search for "rejoice" in Romans. How do I do that without having to create a custom "division" for Romans, and then tap, scroll through the list of divisions, choose "Romans" and then search? It would be much faster if I could just type in "rejoice" and a custom range in the search bar directly.

You don't need to use the "common divisions" but you specify the search range by tapping "All Passages" and adding a new search range.It does involve a few steps.
Had you already found this and were looking for a different mechanism to achieve this?

Yes, I am looking for a different mechanism to achieve a custom range.
I don’t want to make a custom range for one/each book of the Bible. That will eventually make the “all passages” list too large and unwieldy. I find it cumbersome to have to tap and scroll and select, or edit/add a new custom range for each search scenario I might have as I do Bible study.

You can use the {Milestone} search extension described at https://wiki.logos.com/Search_HELP#Milestone to limit the range of text being searched.
While this is documented for the desktop application, it also works in mobile (it's just a lot harder to type in).
rejoice WITHIN {Milestone <Romans>}

Thanks Bradley - I wasn’t aware of that.
Incidentally, if I try using that search string when offline the mobile app (iOS) crashes!

I'll report this to the team.

I can't reproduce a crash; can you send in logs from your device?

Have done as per https://community.logos.com/forums/p/174241/1006568.aspx#1006568 - but also noted I am running the beta app. Sorry I hadn't remembered that when I checked this before.

This Milestone technique works, but it is tedious to type in. I wish there was a way to simply limit the search range with something like [RANGE Romans] instead of having to type out the entire WITHIN {Milestone <Romans>} phrase.
I also discovered if the word "Milestone" doesn't have a capital "M" the search doesn't work. That, to me, is another ridiculously specific requirement to achieve a simple search range.
