This new section isn't showing up in my passage guide, although I can access it as a guide on it's own. Any suggestions.

Did you trying adding it by clicking the "Add" icon on the upper right of the Passage Guide panel?

You can also edit the Passage Guide and add Important Passages that way. (click on the 3 vertical dots in the upper right of the Passage Guide panel and select "Edit Passage Guide")

You have probably customized your passage guide. You can add the new section to your guide after running the guide (or by editing the guide by right clicking on the passage guide in the guides menu). Or you can start from scratch by resetting the passage guide to default by right clicking on the passage guide in the guides menu.

I seem to remember the custom guides updating automatically when new sections are added if you named the guide "My __ Guide" so that it functioned as your default guide. Is that true or did I imagine that? I have customized all of my guides and made the new ones my default. So this means I now have to go through and find the new sections of all the guides and add them, or I have to start over from scratch?

Requiring you to name your guide "My ___ Guide" was not at all obvious to users, and so we hid that mechanism behind the scenes. Now, the "My ___ Guide" is hidden from view (but still exists). When you run "Passage Guide", it will look for and run "My Passage Guide" instead. When you edit "Passage Guide", you are actually editing "My Passage Guide".

In Logos 8 terminology... you have customized your system-defined Passage Guide. If you want to see newly added sections, you are correct. You will need to manually add them or reset your guide.
