I'm having great difficulties to decide which resources to pick. It's just overwhelming this month.
https://www.logos.com/products/search?Status=Live&sort=savings&pageSize=60&Specials=On+Sale&unlocked=no
There's also the question whether to buy more BPs with items from my wish list, or books from the November sale.
Note to self: set a budget, then do the shopping.
That's just outrageous-ly GOOD!
That's a shockingly good selection. Just wonderful.
It is very good, especially for fans of Wipf & Stock.
I found that the "View All Resources" link at the bottom of the Publisher Spotlight page didn't actually show me all the sale items (and showed me quite a few that weren't on sale).
A much better link for Wipf & Stock is: https://www.logos.com/products/search?Publisher=Wipf+%26+Stock&unlocked=no&Status=Live&q=price%3A%5B4.99+TO+4.99%5D&start=0&sort=bestselling&pageSize=60
Wow! Why did they have to have this particular sale this particular month?
G. Aulen's Faith of the Christian Church is available for $5. I didn't even know it was in Logos.
Lots of good stuff especially for our Lutheran brothers & sisters. Might complicate the best strategy for buying a Lutheran base package...
Pretty sure I picked up the Aulen volumes in a Lutheran base package at some time, but can't say when exactly that was.
I think these should've been included in the BPs instead of stuffing Classic stuffs. But then again, it's part of business marketing tactics.
And after buying Ultimate, I feel guilty browsing this sale. [:#]
I started stuffing my cart, and then removed everything again when I looked at the total.
Let's pray for wisdom for each other.

W&F has better list me thinks

Having similar problem! I've put them all in "Saved for later" for now so I can take time to review.
Does anyone have experience of these volumes?

Grudem would be my go to systemic theology, but he doesn't even refer to James Garrett in his bibliography.
.
Looks good..

Ah yes! Please! I pulled the trigger last night for Standard Diamond and Reformed Platinum... and this morning I am having serious buyer's remorse... not for the resources of course, but for the payment plan! It is what my first car's monthly payment was for (granted a few less months, but still).
I hate the thought, but I am really having to ask myself- "Do I NEED this right now?" Then the little voice, but you are only paying a little over a dollar per resource...
AGH!!
Prayer desperately needed.
Anyone have any experience w/ Cyril Barber? I grabbed the the Samuel and Kings volumes because I love history!
These are included in his full 2 volume Systematic Theology. William Hendrickson said,
Garrett has provided a massive and scholarly systematic theology from a thoroughly conservative and comprehensive viewpoint. The work is well documented in both biblical and historical scholarship and will prove to be a classic.
—William Hendrickson, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
Pray for wisdom for each other. That's a deal. Pray for my wife too. She was looking over my shoulder at my cart and I had to explain that I wasn't really going to buy all that. She laughed nervously and said, "Oh, of course, I knew that, Honey."
Actually, I was kind of hoping....

I go into a quiet room on the first of the month to avoid those questions!
I can completely sympathize with this! Only thing is, I cant even let my wife look over my shoulder when I do that because she is like the Claims Manager at a large insurance company reviewing a first time claim... her initial, automatic response is ALWAYS- "No"
LOL!
I never thought of these forums as a support group, but definitely see the need!
"Hi, my name is Michael, and I am a book-a-holic, and my wife does not understand."
I had the same thing happen with the Ultimate BP in my cart If only the $1 per resource line worked all the time...
On the not-$5 group, beware of the dynamic pricing; can get a bit dicey. I picked up a bunch of $5's thanks to the OP.

I'm currently hoping to play the card "you bought a dog I never wanted and agreed I could buy a few more books........"
I am though being quite brutal in terms of choosing which ones I'll buy. Shame at those prices though!
It's just overwhelming this month.
Agreed. One of the best Publisher spotlights I've ever seen.
I've just bought all the Cyril Barber commentaries on offer in the sale that I didn't already own. I like them because they're simple and practical, but don't overdo the application in the way that many expository commentaries do.
Ah, the ole a few more ambiguous language tactic...
Shame at those prices though!
I know! If FL ever gets into the mortgage business, I am in deep trouble.

Going to be a rough Christmas this year!!

I did the same! [:$]
Wow! And Newbigin And Hauerwas. FTW! Thanks Faithlife! Pretty stealthy sale here.

Appendix 4
Annotated Bibliography of Evangelical Systematic Theologies
Garrett, James Leo. Systematic Theology: Biblical, Historical, Evangelical. 2 vols. Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1990, 1995. Garrett is a Southern Baptist who is Distinguished Professor of Theology at Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He interacts extensively and with scrupulous fairness with both evangelical and non-evangelical authors, though he himself is firmly within the evangelical camp. He is Baptistic in his convictions, yet gives much more space to representing different positions clearly than to arguing for his own position. With 1530 total pages, these volumes are an amazingly rich resource for historical, bibliographical, and Biblical data on each doctrine treated.
Wayne A. Grudem, Systematic Theology: An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine, (Leicester, England; Grand Rapids, MI: Inter-Varsity Press; Zondervan Pub. House, 2004), 1227.
Grudem's original edition came out in 1997... a bit too late to consult Garrett?
Who?

Thanks so much for taking the trouble to respond. My print edition of Grudem's Systematic Theology is 1994 so Garrett wasn't referenced and unfortunately my digital version is Olive Tree, so less searchable than Logos, but I can see the extract you've copied now. Looks like it'll be well worth $9.98.
Everyone looking at the New Covenant Commentary volumes on sale: also check out Logos 8 Reformed Bronze. It's included in that, and depending on what you already own in your library, it may be an even better deal than the sale price on the individual volumes.
Wow! And Newbigin And Hauerwas. FTW! Thanks Faithlife! Pretty stealthy sale here. Who?
There are lots of people out there.
Thanks for this tip Sean. I have 5 NCC volumes to add and the Reformed Bronze was less but included some other useful resources.
Just a heads up that Garlington can be found in some reformed base packages
Thanks very much for this... greatly helps!
I cannot remember an extensive Baptist systematic theology in that same timeframe
A couple to consider is Millard Erickson

And Culver's

+ Garrett 5$/vol., 2 vol. set:
Lesslie Newbigin - cross-cultural experience in India for many years gave him great insight into the post-Christian West upon his return there. I particularly appreciate how he consistently addresses the divide between facts and values from the Enlightenment on. Good advice on how the church bears witness not to a private truth, but a truth that is public (for all), the gospel.

And Stanley Hauerwas..

I first encountered him in "Resident Aliens", and then "Naming the Silences: God, Medicine, and the Problem of Suffering". He's an American Theologian that helps think and live Christianly in a culture that largely isn't.
Two volumes by Gary Habermas, one of which is on his research on Near Death Experiences (NDE), and the other one a transcript of his debate with Anthony Flew (the famous debate that caused Flew to renounce atheism).

Thanks for highlighting Habermas’s works! It’s cheaper right now to buy them separately than as a bundle 👍😁👌
DAL
Daniel L Block‘s and Gary Habermas’s collections are awesome! 👍😁👌
Though I must agree, that this sale came in at a somewhat bad time. Too many discounted goodies that can add up to a lot of money if one is not careful. ☹️
Buy responsibly!

FL should give everyone a free copy of this book with their first purchase.

Agreed. I am trying to purchase judiciously. For all who are being tempted to splurge--remember you have till the 30th to decide!
Also, this awesome publishers' sale gives me hope that it will occur again sometime in the future. That is helping me decide if I really need a title or not.
And since I only had the bundle on my wish list, I didn't notice initially.
Checking all bundles on your wishlists could be worthwhile.
