Tagging Resources

With the improved Library interface in Logos 8, I'm starting to more actively use the Tags feature. Questions:

1. What's the difference between tag: and mytag: ?

2. How do I mass tag a bunch of resources in the Library? I tried Ctrl-select and Shift-select; neither one allows me to multi-select resources to add the same tag.

3. Do tags sync completely to mobile? On the PC I tagged 9 resources with "to-read", but on the iPad mini when I type in (my)tag:to-read it only shows 2 resources. Searching for other tags on mobile returns no results... Any idea why? (I'm still on version 6.5.6.0137 on the iPad - no newer version has downloaded from the App Store.)

Select multiple items in your Library with CONTROL (Windows) or COMMAND (Mac), and then click on the circled I (information icon). Enter your tag and hit enter. This will apply the tag to all resources you selected.

If iOS hasn't pushed an update to you, go to the App Store, search for Faithlife Corporation, then click to download Logos Bible Study Tools. This will update your currently installed app with the new version. I had to do this on all my devices...the update was not pushed out to me on any devices.

mytag: searches tags that you have created

tag: searches tags you have created and popular tags that have been created by others.

These should both work. Be careful not to click on the title of the resource, as that will open the resource rather than just selecting it.

In the Library, is there a way to negatively filter by a specific tag? e.g.

NOT mytag:fiction

-mytag:fiction

!mytag:fiction

... all of the above didn't filter for books that are NOT tagged as fiction.

Those search criteria can't stand alone; they have to be combined with something you're removing those items from. This can be “*”, representing all resources.

* ANDNOT mytag:fiction

* -mytag:fiction

The Last Updated field is mentioned on the wiki at https://wiki.logos.com/Library__#Search_Fields_that_you_can_use_in_the_Find_box

Added is the same except with a field name of "addeddate".

Last Accessed is not available for filtering.
