Table of Contents Width
I have opened up resources and started checking the width of the "table of contents" the average is 3 inches- what a waste of viewing space this is very annoying to have to constantly adjust this- there is no reason this should be any wider than 1.25"- this needs to be fixed- sooner not later.

I agree that the TOC pane is too wide and should be narrowed.

It's not a fixed width. It's a percentage of the open panel.

I would prefer having an adjustable TOC column. There are times when a narrow view doesn't show enough.

I've complained about this since L4. Yes, it is adjustable, but it is annoying that the program doesn't remember where the user has set it, and so it must be adjusted every time you have to open or reopen a window. How hard is it to get the program to remember the setting you pick?

How hard is it to get the program to remember the setting you pick?
Not hard at all, but one of Faithlife's small but important revenue streams come from the makers of computer mice. FL gets revenue if they help mice wear out faster and need to be replaced. So, they leave few things in the software like this for that purpose. (They do get less revenue since mice shed their rolling balls, unfortunately.)
OK. That's not the truth.
After many years of development it would seem to be a small thing to do.
But what would you want, a resource specific width or one that applies to all resources? If the former that's where things would get a little more complicated. I imagine FL could figure that one out, but they would first balance user need, user demand, and the cost of getting it done. So maybe not as simple as it seems.
Until they get it accomplished, you are helping keep mouse manufacturers in business, if only in a small way. They appreciate it.

I would want the software to automatically accommodate at least 80% of the table of contents entries.
If the resulting width was unreasonably wide then the software should break the entry over two or more lines and resize.

For my Bible, I want it to remain as small as possible...literally having only one letter showing. I guess my biggest irritation is that trying to resize the TOC is so annoying. I often have move the cursor back and forth over the line more than a dozen times trying to get it to register that I have the ability to "grab" it, only to have the cursor lose that ability when I do actually click. The change of the cursor from "regular" to "resize" needs to be less challenging and more responsive.

the TOC needs to open at no more 1.25" 90% of resource TOC's can accommodate this setup- it is so annoying to have to adjust every single resource only to have to redo it the next time- REALLY!!!!!

The 1.25" TOC is a start, but still can be adjusted- 1.25 allows you to optimal viewing of the resource- I don't need to see a 3" TOC.

It would be nice to set the font size of the TOC independent from the content font size.
I feel a small font for the TOC and large for the content would be ideal for me.

I can not agree more. When I have set the font of the resource to a bigger size, the TOC follows with the same size. Which is better than it was: totally unadjustable. But now it is at times way to big because of the resources font. This is annoying me a lot.
Please make it possible to adjust the font size from the TOC independently from adjusting the font size of the resource!

Actually, this was one of my complaints about the TOC when L4 came out, and as I mentioned above, this was one of the things that FL (pre-FL) did make adjustments to. Sounds like this new version has reverted back to that original condition. I once again concur that fonts of TOC windows and contents windows should adjust independently.
