I want to find all instances in the Hebrew scriptures where three nouns are listed in a row, preferably with "and" (the vav) in front of the second two nouns. Ideally, these would be predicate nominatives. What is the best way to find these verses?
Try <LogosMorphHeb ~ N?????> BEFORE 1 WORD <LogosMorphHeb ~ C?> BEFORE 1 CHAR <LogosMorphHeb ~ N?????> BEFORE 1 WORD <LogosMorphHeb ~ C?> BEFORE 1 CHAR <LogosMorphHeb ~ N?????> in LHB.
A more controlled variation is <LogosMorphHeb ~ N?????> BEFORE 2 CHAR <LogosMorphHeb ~ C?> BEFORE 1 CHAR <LogosMorphHeb ~ N?????> BEFORE 2 CHAR <LogosMorphHeb ~ C?> BEFORE 1 CHAR <LogosMorphHeb ~ N?????>
2 CHAR allows a space between segments. You could vary that with 2-3 CHAR.
The Conjunction C? will be in front of the second and third Nouns.
A syntax search (Andersen Forbes) would be more accurate, and a Morph Query (LHB) could be even more controlled.
That's excellent. It returned exactly the results I was looking for.
Not to be greedy, but I wonder if it is possible to find words that have Masoretic punctuation. I'm looking for cases when a zeqeph qaton appears over the medial noun. I can identify them by sight, but would be terrific if I could filter the results accordingly.
And can I just say, how amazing is it that such analysis of the biblical text is possible. It is why Logos is so powerful as a tool, and why we are so blessed over previous generations of Bible students. Thanks, FaithLife!

This is where my knowledge of Hebrew falls down. In Morph Search, select a Hebrew bible, type @ and see what attributes are suggested for a Noun.
If you have Biblia Hebraica Transcripta, you will find a very different analysis and the equivalent Morph Search query is:
@S BEFORE 1 WORD @C BEFORE 1 WORD @S BEFORE 1 WORD @C BEFORE 1 WORD @S
The substantive S does not include proper nouns E, so you might run another search. But you can combine them using a Morph Search:
@S,E BEFORE 1 WORD @C BEFORE 1 WORD @S,E BEFORE 1 WORD @C BEFORE 1 WORD @S,E
Conjunctions are separated - not part of the noun segment; hence the use of WORD before the noun.
Hi Dave,
Could you mind to show me the url link of syntax search?
I can search in Morph interface.
I am not sure where to post the searching keywords in syntax search interface.
Thanks
Jimmy
Syntax Search (Documents menu > Syntax Search) is diagrammatic. You can find more at https://wiki.logos.com/Setting_up_a_Syntax_Search and from included links.
Thanks Dave~~
Dave,
I still haven't figure out how to implement the searching into syntax diagram..

Hi KeepSmiling4Jesus,
Can I have a syntax search like Dave's morph search output?
I'm looking for cases when a zeqeph qaton appears over the medial noun.
Syntax Search finds 90 results
Thanks! I was hoping the list might include some list of predicate nominatives like Genesis 1:2 to bolster my opinion that all three nouns "formless and void and darkness" related directly to the earth, and thus it is the earth rather than darkness per se that is on the face of the deep. But no such luck. I guess my theory remains grammatically unsubstantiated.
Morph Search results included nouns with pronoun suffix:
Yeah, the pronoun suffixes
