New installation of Logos 3.0c upgrade- issues

I've got Logos Bible Software Series X (1 installation disk and 5 resource disks) and Logos Library Upgrade 3.0c (has 1 installation disk and 6 additional resource disks).

I am wanting to install this on a new computer running Windows Vista (soon to be upgraded to Windows7). The computer never had the Series X software installed, so I started off by installing the Logos Library Upgrade 3.0c via the installation disk. The problem is that it never asked me to install the resource disks during the process of installation. I believe I need to copy the resource material from the resource disks on to the hard drive somewhere but I am unsure where. Also, when I open the logos3 software, the homepage doesn't come up. I can't find the homepage under the Go menu or by entering alt-home. If I search on a passage or scripture, nothing comes up which I believe is due to finding no resources.

My question is whether I need to install the Logos Series X software first and then install the Logos Upgrade 3.0c for a new installation? Or can I just install the Logos Upgrade 3.0c?

Also, where on my hard drive do I copy the resources from the resource disks?

Insert your first resource disk and if that doesn't launch Logos then run Logos and it should find the resources on the disk and ask you whether you want to copy the resources on to your HDD. When you say yes, it should open up location manager, find the unlocked resources by default and offer you the default location which is C:Program Files\Libronix\Resources. Selecting yes installs the resources. Repeat with other resources disks. Originally, Libronix was designed to be able to run with resources on CD, if necessary, as some computers, particularly laptops were often tight for HDD space. (Ten years ago I had a desktop with a 3.1 GB HDD!)

Personally used Windows XP Pro in a virtual machine to install Logos Bible Software Series X with serial number entry - turned off automatic updates - shutdown virtual machine - copied it - then updated virtual machine copy to Logos 3.0g - now can run Series X and Logos 3.

Logos 3 support page has link to 3.0g download:

Resource files are in "C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources" - also can use Tools => Library Management => Account Summary to verify Libronix id and activation (unlock access to Series X resources).

By the way, Windows 7 Professional, WIndows 7 Enterprise, and Windows 7 Ultimate have free Windows XP Mode download - Microsoft Virtual PC and pre-built WIndows XP Pro hdd (hard disk drive) image file.

I put in Disk A resource and then started up Libronix. All I get is a blank workspace. It doesn't find the resources on the disk automatically. Am I supposed to execute some command within the Libronix software to have it open up the location manager?

Also, I tried going to the http://www.logos.com/support/article/1198. link you provided, but the page is empty???

You're unlikely to get 3.0c running on Windows 7. You should download and install 3.0g from the Logos website.

As Mark stated, you won't get 3.0c running on Vista/Win7 because it does not properly handle the security requirements of the these OS. You should install 3.0c from the CD, but IMMEDIATELY update to 3.0g from the web page ie. do not start L3 before upgrading. You can get resources from the DVD by using Location Manager but you would be better to copy resources from your previous system.
