How do we find or is it deprecated - the update summary?
I really appreciated the update summary link that was on the L7 homepage that listed all resources that had been updated in an update package download. Has that neat little feature been deprecated in L8 or am I just missing it somewhere?

Yes and no.
The feature as it existed in L7 does not exist in L8. I believe they are discussing something similar to come back but nothing concrete.
To see updated resources go to the Library and on the filter menu at the bottom you will see two sections:
Updated
Added
These will show you recently added or updated resources.

Yes. I did that (sorting resources), but I sure liked the "at-a-glance" ease of the L7 way...

I agree. I also liked it because it would show you when an application update was installed and gave links to the release notes.

I have to agree with Dan...a convenient notification of changes made...strange that it was not included in L8
