Any way to revert to Logos7?

I am in the midst of creating some lessons, and I don't have time to learn the new program. I opened Logos this morning and it is now version 8. I didn't request it...

Ron, you must be a Connect subscriber as all Connect subscribers were automatically upgraded to L8 on Monday. You should have received one or two emails about this before it happened.

There is no simple way to revert to L7, I'm sorry.

The basic function is pretty much the same. Perhaps you can share the tools or features you need to use regularly and someone here can let you know what's changed and help you get up to speed quickly.

    Hi Ron

If you have not already seen it; read this article by Phil:

    https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019175372

This should speed up the process of adjusting to 8. As far as I can tell going back to 7 would require a reinstall and turning automatic updates off BUT I would not recommend this as no one from Faithlife has indicated that this is possible and there may be unexpected consequences.

Not what you want to hear but best bet is to stick with 8 and move forward, the good news is that there is now a lot more detail about the changes than there was when 8 first launched and Phil's document will get you off to a good start.

All my layouts changed (this is most upsetting to me - had my favorite commentaries/resources laid out for specific functions). I'll muddle through for now...I looked back at the emails notifying the change - I mistook the orange "Get New Features" as the Opt In request.

I ended up ordering a package since I was sent over the falls in a barrel...rather of waited...but here goes another learning curve...

That is curious. My layouts are now what they were in L7. Nothing has changed for me.

I was wrong - the layouts did save (sort of). I thought they didn't because there were only two panels, and Louw-Nida was showing in the first; Ancient Christian Devotional in the second - in ALL of the old "Snapshots" and "Application Closed" . Just was not used to seeing the new tab structure.

Good. Saved layouts should be preserved, and scrolling down in the RH panel should show a lot of your older layouts.
