Notes
Notes got a major overhaul In Logos 8.
They are now managed in a separate tool that allows you to better record, organize, and share your thoughts on any biblical text or resource. You can create multiple Notebooks to organize your notes however you like, and advanced filters let you find a specific note more easily.
You can learn all about about the new Notes tool through the links below.

- Is one a subset of the other?
- How is an anchor different from linking a note to more than one text ("Edit Attachment Points")?
- What does it mean that some anchors have already been created for some of my notes but not others?

Notes got a major overhaul In Logos 8.
System: PC, Windows 10, Logos Connect, desktop
After reading the documentation and watching videos for Logos 8 (Thank you, Logos!) I am still unclear on the relationship of notes and anchors.
The Notes function was what originally drove me to Logos, so I am highly motivated to understand this, my favorite function.

Think of an anchor as something you are attaching the note to. The note is the content you are creating, the anchor is what you are attaching that content to such as a reference, headword, lemma, etc.
Currently there is no way to do this. However, this is on a list of upcoming features shown on this page
That's a bummer. I feel like we do this at every upgrade with little things like this. We pay for upgrades that should be beta but aren't quit ready for the public yet.
In fairness, this is the way it is when you early adopt a software. This was also documented in the FAQ's.
The changes to the "Notes" In Logos 8 has been a disaster for me!! I spent an hour and a half with a customer service Representative yesterday who was extremely helpful. However I use notes in a two by tow matrix for daily prayer and daily Greek translation, but the new system simply won't work with notes is such approach. This morning doing my devotions and using a cumbersome work around I was able to do my translation, but all of my notes for my prayer journal cannot be found and my matrix keeps pulling up my translation note in all four panes. What a disaster!! It would be helpful if you talked with some of us before you destroy our work!! I have had Logos since Libronix 2 and at this moment feel no loyalty to Logos at all. Jim Holsinger
Hi Jim
Sorry to hear that you are having trouble but I am having a bit of difficulty understanding the problem.
Any chance of posting a couple of screen shots to illustrate where it is going wrong?
Often there is a user who has overcome a problem or can suggest an alternative solution.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. But here is a try from reading your post.
First, about the missing notes, has your software finished syncing? It can take a while for all of the notes to come over the first time.
Second, I am able to open two notes panels and have two different notes up and working on them. Is this not working for you? Am I understanding the problem correctly?
I have been doing work arounds, but four note panels no longer work correctly. Two panels are fine.
Everyone is finding it difficult to visualise what you used to do in L7 and why that doesn't work now. If you could provide a screenshot or a clearer description we may be able to help.
This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!
In L7 I made a notebook called "The Life of Christ outside the Gospels," and in it I had a note for each major event in the life of Christ that is described in the New Testament from Romans through Revelation. The same event could be described in multiple places, so within each note there were multiple verse references. I had arranged the notes in chronological order as they occurred in the life of Christ. I liked being able to see all the details of all the notes at once and scroll through them. Of course, now in L8 I cannot see all the notes at once, and they are not listed in chronological order. I can find no way to control what order they appear, though my guess is that they are in the reverse order I made them. That is not the chronology I want them in.
If I understand how the Notes work now, I need to move all these notes into one single note and format the content within the note with bullets to reflect the events themselves and then list the verse references beneath each bullet. Would those more familiar with the L8 notes feature concur with this approach to making this kind of note? Or is there a different tool for making this sort of thing?

This thread is getting a little rambling.
I suggest the you copy your post into a new thread with an appropriate and descriptive title. This way your particular problem can be concentrated on and solutions unique to you posited with out the conversation being interspersed with replies to others.

I am writing notes in both Norwegian and English. It would be nice if we could set the language used in the note, so that I/we can keep spell check enabled for English notes, without being bothered with the whole note being painted red while typing notes in a non-English language.
A bonus would be if you also could add spellcheck support for more languages, and of course a language tag for sorting, though this is already possible with custom tags
HI Ron - and welcome to the forums.
So sorry to hear you are having problems.
where do I go to get my money returned to me
You would need to contact Faithlife Customer Services regarding that - most of us on these forums are fellow-users trying to help and support other users
I have no highlights or notes anymore, no one, zero.
If you would like us to try and help work out what has gone wrong please start a new thread in the Mobile apps forum - https://community.logos.com/forums/150.aspx - providing as many details as possible

Does anyone know how to find specific scripture notes?
I can find the specific notes I have in Genesis like this...
If this does not answer your question I recommend that you start a new thread where the problem can be dealt with in isolation.

Hi, is there a way to see multiple notes at once? It seems like it is a view notes one at a time kind of system now, but maybe I'm missing something? Just curious because if I was studying a particular passage it was nice to break it up with multiple notes but see them all at the same time.
Thanks
Currently we can see extracts of notes in the browse panel but only the full content of one note at a time.
Thanks Graham. The changes to Notes look really good by the way. The organization features are great! One more question - can you put images or media into a note?
Not at the moment.
I think I have seen someone from Faithlife mention they would like to add this but I don't know when / if that might happen.
You should be able to open multiple instances of the notes panel by right clicking on the icon in the tools menu and choosing "open in a new tab". You can also duplicate the notes tool with ctrl+shift+n.
