Layouts in mobile app not functioning correctly

Layouts are not holding resources that you add. Once you switchto another layout the resources that you just added to the layout disappear.

I've not had this issue. Just to check, are you aware that you need to save any changes that you wish to keep? Not sure if you are aware but it's acting up or if you'd not seen this yet.

If you hadn't come across this: you update a layout so by opening the layouts menu, swiping left on the desired layout and selecting "update" - the greatthing about this is that if I open tons of resources that clutter up my layout, I can just reload it. If I add something I want to keep I can save my changes.

Update the layout as James said and the new resources will stay in place.
