How to package custom font?
Hi, I've made a custom font for use with Ugaritic when working in Logos.
Everytime I need to reinstall Logos or if I have to change my system, reinstall windows, etc. I have to hunt down where I have that font at and reinstall it so Logos will display Ugaritic things in the way I want it to (some of my custom highlights use my font). Is there a way in Logos 8 to add my font (very small file) as a custom resource or something so that whenever I reinstall Logos, bam it's there in some folder for me to just grab and add to my system?
I don't expect Logos to integrate my custom font I just want to know if there is a way I can package it with logos so when I reinstall it and any other such customizations I make will be downloaded from faithlife's server with Logos and I can then just access the goodies in that directory and install them to my system or whatever.
thanks,
-Jeremiah

Not currently, but we'd be willing to consider including your font with Logos 8. If you're interested, email it to me at phil@faithlife.com.

I'd suggest using a service like OneDrive or Dropbox (I think both offer 5GB for free) to store files like this that you'd like to sync between installations of Windows. After reinstalling Windows, right-click the file and "Install Font" will put it back on your system.

I'm confused by this, because reinstalling Logos shouldn't affect your system-installed fonts in any way.

I use the following solution on my Win10 Laptop. This solution install Logos without downloading everything all over. You'll need some tech knowledge or no nerves to do this. Once setup, this always work and takes about 1-2min from you start installation until you are back online and working in Logos.
- Partition your drive if possible. Name that drive "L" for Logos.
- Install Logos on the empty partition L:/Logos
- Let windows daily backup your installation files from C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Logos\Install to drive:/Logos/Install where you installed Logos. This keep the installation files up to date.
- Put all your custom apps and fonts on that drive.
- After you reinstalled windows on the C Drive, rename L:/Logos to L:/_Logos
- Reinstall Logos from drive:/_Logos/Install/Installers
- Delete the newly created installation L:/Logos after installation finished
- Rename the old L:/_Logos back to L:/Logos
- Install all other Apps and fonts from that drive for example L:/Fonts/Ugaritic.ttf
- Run Logos, you'll maybe need to sign in once
- Design an automated script to do all this work for you next time you need to reinstall windows
- ór, just send your files to Phil
I'll just go straight to Option 12 [:)], but the above steps is actually a real life solution if you need to reinstall Windows often. Observe, "reinstall Windows", Logos is to stable to cause a reinstall. [Y]

Thank you for all the replies gentlemen.
@Bradley - I usually need to reinstall windows, etc a few times yearly - this is the scenario I'm outlining.
@Phil - maybe. The issue isn't just my font though, I also have several custom images I use in custom highlights so it's really more like a custom set of resources I use.
@Pieter -what a well-thought out solution you have provided. Seems pretty complicated though, I was hoping we just would have a like a custom resources folder or something since we can add custom books and such.
I think I'll just make a custom folder on my SD card (always plugged in) top level folder so easy to find "Logos custom-resources" and dump my stuff there.
Thanks everyone!
