Automatic Scripture Reference Anchors in New Notes Feature
I have a question about whether the new Notes feature in Logos 8 can automatically add Scripture reference anchors when a highlight contains Scripture references. In the screenshot below I have highlighted text from a Logos resource that contains several references from the Book of Matthew. After highlighting the text, a note is created, but there are no anchors created to the specific Matthew references within the highlighted text.
Is there a way for anchors to be automatically added that correspond to the specific Scripture references contained in a highlight? I imagine that if this were possible, then highlights which contain Scripture references would show up under "Bible Book" in the "Filters" sidebar.
If this is not currently possible, are there any plans from Faithlife to add automatic Scripture reference anchors in a future update to Logos 8? I would love this!

No, anchors do not work like that currently and I don't believe that is on their radar. But I think it is a good idea!

I certainly wouldn’t want this to be automatic, but having the option would be great.

What would you see as the disadvantage to automatically adding them?

Clutter in Bibles, especially for very long reference ranges. I often simply wouldn't want a note indicator at all the passages referenced in text I happened to have highlighted.

I agree with you about wanting to avoid clutter. However, the anchor by itself doesn't add a note indicator. That is a semi-independent setting.
That being said, I wouldn't want the Anchors created in the current Anchor system, as that system does tend to apply whatever visual effects you have on the note/highlight to all anchors (e.g. it will highlight text in the anchored verses if you anchor a highlight). But, I could imagine with the new centralized notes db, that we will eventually get additional fields where automatic tags like this could become very useful - automatically adding the milestone where the original note/highlight/clipping was could be one. Another could be "included milestones" like what Daniel is asking for. This could potentially allow filtering in powerful ways. At least it is something worth considering.
