Library: How do I use filters to exclude results?

As an example, I would like to find Hebrew bibles that are not from the Dead Sea Scrolls.

I have succeeded in the screen shot below ... but is there  a better way? ... such as option-click of a filter term (on the LHS) and make it exclude results rather than my having to develop a search term?

There are many instances where I would like to remove results and see what is remaining ... refining as I go ... (and on the web site too!!!)

With the prevalence of filtering through L8 (an excellent idea BTW) ... what am I missing?

Thanks.

    Hi Martin,

There is no such feature at this time. It is a good suggestion.

There has also been suggestions to allow for multiple selections.

I am glad we can still use the formulas on the search line to get the results we want. You even combined the two, which I would not have considered. I would have just typed the formula the way we would have in L7. Very creative.

For this particular search, and after selecting type Bible and language Hebrew, go to "series". I have only two options: DSS or none. I pick none and all DSS are gone.

While it is not as immediate a solution as using ANDNOT, there might be similar workarounds for other searches where you wish to exclude something.

I'm no programmer, but I suspect this is a very difficult implementation. A platform as big as, and with as many resources as eBay won't or can't implement this kind of filter, and it has been screamed for by eBay users for ages. (In particular, people want to be able to exclude searches on eBay for items that are local-pickup only...but that still can't be done.)

So there might be a legit reason this isn't an option for us on Logos.

    Just guessing...
