Has L8 retained the Home Page feature where it listed any resource and software updates in a toolbar dropdown? If not, is this information still accessible within the software?
This feature will be returning:
Update notifications: There are no longer notifications on the Home Page for application and resource updates. We plan to bring these back in the near future

In the meantime, you can use the Library to find resource updates:
1) Sort by "Last Updated"
2) Use the Library sidebar (on the left) and scroll down to "Added"
Currently it is not available in the homepage (it will come back). For resources, this information is available - much better than under L7 - through the new filter facets "added"/"updated" in the library
