How to delete ALL notes?
I am trying to delete all the ---notes and other material- out of notes- just so you know I HATE L8 notes- I want to eliminate its use as much as possible, it is almost impossible to clear-out 'note and highlights" in each resource- every single resource has a thousand links in it- I know I can't do anything about highlights showing up in notes- but I want to get rid of everything else- EVERYTHING- NOTES, word list, passage list, etc. that way only the highlights remain.
I do not want to turn it off- I want to get rid of it.

I'm sorry but I don't understand this. Passage Lists, for example, are separate from Notes.
Are you able to clarify further so we can try and work out how to advise?

The new notes make it hard to delete all of a certain type of file- I call all of them notes because they are within the note feature- the only thing I want left is highlights only- since I no longer use notes for anything but that.

They need an opt out button!

I don’t understand when you say they are all in the Note feature.
You can delete notes by dragging them to the trash - and you can select multiple notes and operate on a group at a time.
But it would be good to understand what you mean as it may be possible to do what you want to do differently.
Can you provide more details, screenshots or something to clarify?

Well I guess I have no choice but to sit here and drag thousands of notes, passage list, etc one at a time to delete. That's what I was afraid of.
That's ok - I have decided to no longer use highlighting as well- I don't have time to sit here and search for every little thing under the "new" notes feature.

Easiest way untick"notes and highlights" under "visual filters" on every resource- and not use any notes or hilites in the future.
L8 my $50,000.00 brick.

You could always go back to the old notes system....

I don't recommend switching back to old notes, unless you need specific functionality that hasn't been added to new Notes yet, like the Label feature.
Whyndell, I suspect you have spent years investing in creating notes and highlights in Logos. I'd hate for you to lose all of that work. Before you do anything, let's explore your options a little more. I'll contact you privately.

Yes, I was suggesting that more of a last resort. Thanks for clarifying that.

All my note keeping is in Word- has been ever since they hooked highlights into note files- now the system is cluttered with junk- Notes and Highlights under Visual Filters is just full of stuff not used.
What I simply want is to "purge" the system of all the stuff there- I still "hilite" and build an occasional diagram (which does not show in visual filters) - everything else I don't need. Trying to find something in the new notes is just something I don't want to do- but do want all of it gone.

Ok- reverted to old notes- manually deleted all notes, etc- using ctrl-a/ delete, switched back to new notes- restarted- opened several resources checked under Notes and Highlights in Visual Filters all the cluttered was deleted.
Only the old notes system would let me do this.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a frustrating day, Whyndell.

This link talks about note notebooks. It sounds like if you put your notes into a notebook Then you can tell the notebook not to display. https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018492791-Using-Notebooks-to-Organize-your-Notes

It sounds like you're confusing the new Notes tool with the Visual Filters menu.
The Visual Filters menu basically works the same way it did with Logos 7. Instead of seeing note documents, you're seeing notebooks. But you have the exact same control over them you had with Logos 7.
It sounds like you want to turn them off. You can do this by clicking on the hover menu for each notebook and choosing "Do not show in any resources."
Nothing has changed with Passage Lists in Logos 8. They work the same way they did before. And they're completely unrelated to the new Notes tool. You can disable them in the Visual Filters menu in the same way you can disable notebooks.
Word Lists are also unchanged. They don't have anything to do with the visual filters and don't show up in your resources anywhere.
I'm curious to know what you don't like about the new Notes tool. I'm having a hard time finding an actual complaint about the Notes tool in your comments. What am I missing?

On further investigation, I think there is one difference. Instead of showing just the notebooks that have notes and highlights for this resource, we're showing all notebooks, making it feel like a much bigger management task to disable them. I've got the team looking into this. I'm sorry for the frustration.

Since the only thing left is highlights (diagrams are under docs heading), I will probably never open notes- unless I want to delete the highlights in a particular resource- then I sit here and delete, delete, delete- till their gone.
