Random thoughts and suggestions
I absolutely love Logos 8. It was a leap forward. Here are a few random thoughts and suggestions on what I hope still improves with time:
- If several resource panels are open in a window, I have to repeatedly click the left or right arrows to get to the next tab. If I continue pressing (not clicking) on the arrow, nothing happens. My preference would be that the tabs would flow through.
- The course tool and workflows have a button "Continue". In my understanding, pressing this button means "Done" as it ticks off the previous step. For me, there is a difference between "Continue" (forward looking) and "Done" (backward looking). Also, as far as I know, there is no way to "undo" something that I accidentally clicked.
- In some searches, there is the option to show more results by clicking "More >>". In some cases, I get 10 more results, in other cases, I get all results. My preference would be to have two options:
- More >>: Give 10 more results
- All >>: Show all results
- In order to float a panel, I would prefer to just drag its tab elsewhere. And if I want to redock it, I want to drag it to a window. I like this approach in Google Chrome.
- Copying text from a resource to a notes file does no longer create a hyperlink to the original resource. This worked in the old note files. It would be great to have this again.
- I would like to specify how many highlights a text needs in order to be classified as "Popular Highlight". I noticed a "popular highlight" to be highlighted by only 6 people.
- I live in the developing world and internet is slow and expensive. I would like to be able to adjust the resolution of the videos of courses and FaithlifeTV.

Some great thoughts and ideas here[:)]
Here's some comments on some of them

This has been discussed in a number of places and Faithlife are aware of the issue

Agreed - this suggestion (or variants of it) has been made a number of times

This works for me on Windows

This is recognised and on the list to be brought back - item 5 on the missing features list at https://www.logos.com/faq/notes

That's an interesting idea. I haven't really thought about that - I don't tend to use them much - but I found https://community.logos.com/forums/p/61098/433493.aspx#433493 interesting (written a long time ago but I assume its still current)

This is restored in 8.1 Beta 3, except it gives the appearance of a footnote.

From your screenshot it looks as though the resource is linked but not the page number. Is that correct?

It does link to the copied text. I get the same type links in MS Word for Mac. Clicking the blue text takes me to the proper location. This is different that it had been previously—but I do not remember when it changed.

I've been thinking along a slightly different line: I think it would be really cool if click-hold on the arrow would drop down a list of all the resources in that panel and give me the ability to immediately jump to the one I want to get to.

Semantics, but Done would not necessarily imply that I wish to "Continue" to the next step!

You can revisit a step if you accidentally clicked Continue/Skip before completion. But it won't update status to "complete" if the step was skipped. There is room for improvement here. What would you like to see?
