How can I see my notes in Logos for ipad?
I am sure I am missing something, but none of my notes show up in the IOS app. They used to, prior to 8, but now nothing.. .I go to the Mac version nd they are there but on the ipad nothing. . How do I "turn it on"?

Give it a little while. Depending on how many notes you have, it could take a while to download and build your notes database for offline use.

No, that doesn't seem to be the issue. I can let it sit for HOURS and nothing. . .I can go to the Mac version or the web app (on the iPad even) and my notes are highlighted in the text. I can't get them to show up on the text (tag, highlights, etc).

I had some similar problems. I could not see my notes in my Bible in the iPad app. I discovered that the resource was not downloaded. When I did, the notes appeared. Maybe that could be the case for you too?

It looks as though you are seeing notes created by reference - notes with a verse anchor - but not notes linked to a porrion of text.
To verify this, try creating a note in the webapp linked to some text - not a Bible reference - and see if it appears on the iPad. My guess is it won’t but I don’t know, at the moment, what is casuing this

Adam, my notes came up on my iPhone but not on my iPad. After a few days of frustration, I re-installed the IOS app and the notes appeared.

I tried this but nothing.
I did find that my OLD notes are available and viewable. Any NEW notes I create in Logos 8 do not show up. is this a "feature"?

Above I thought you showed a new note - created by reference - appearing. Is that not the case?
Theres clearly some problem here but I don’t know what is causing it

This is what is happening. I created some notes in the new tool by reference - they show up on my iPad. If I create them by linking to a word or text, they do not show up in the iPad.

Is the resource you are working on downloaded to your iPad?
There is an issue with notes by reference not appearing if the resource is not downloaded - but you seem to be seeing the reverse of yet. But I thought it was worth trying!

So. . the ESV bible was downloaded but the resource (commentary) I was using to make notes was not (copying text pasting into notes attached to verses, etc). I downloaded it and they now show up.

I downloaded it and they now show up.
Really glad it's working but I'm keen to try and work out what was going on if that's ok with you.
To try and clarify - were you making notes against the ESV or against the commentary?
And do these notes now appear in both the ESV and the commentary?

I am making notes IN the ESV bible with copy/pastes from a commentary (or my own thoughts).
Scenario:
1. Read section in commentary that strikes me. Select and copy.
2. In the ESV highlight a section of text that corresponds to the copied text. Highlight the text in the ESV, select create a note from the pull down.
3. Paste the text that was copied in #1.

Scenario:
I've tried to reproduce this but the note does end up being visible on my iPad. So checking I understand your steps correctly
1. Read section in commentary that strikes me. Select and copy.
2. In the ESV highlight a section of text that corresponds to the copied text
I've highlighted some words from 9:1 - they don't specifically correspond to the copied text but I can't see that making a difference!
Highlight the text in the ESV, select create a note from the pull down.
Do you mean the "new note on selected text" option from the Notes "New note" drop down as below?
3. Paste the text that was copied in #1.
And then the note appears on my iPad in the ESV even though the commentary isn't downloaded to the iPad.
Am I missing anything / misunderstanding any of the steps?

I don't press the "new note" button. I right click the selected text and get the pull down. From there I 'add a note'.

Thanks Adam - appreciated
i don’t think that should make a difference but I’ll check
Im away from my computer though for a day or so.

Hi Adam
I think I followed your steps copying a bit from a commentary on Job and putting it in the Christian Standard Bible.
The note appeared instantly on my iPad.
