CSB no longer opening after updating it on app version 6.5.6

This morning I saw an available update for CSB and I downloaded it. After downloading it I tried to open it but it is giving me an error (An unknown error occurred opening resource). I removed it from my library and tried to open it without downloading it. I get the same error.

Does this mean I will have to use the new mobile app version from now onto be able to open it? I am still on the old app (6.5.6) because I have a hard time reading using the new app.

Yes, the most recent CSB resource file requires the latest version of the app (to understand its versification scheme).

So I have two options at this point:
1. Switch to the new Android app which is awful for reading on the device I use the most.
2. Stop updating any resources on the device until Logos offers new font choices in the new app.
(I know, I know. I could also cough up more money to buy a tablet with a better resolution but that ain't going to happen).

Why doesn't the app prevent the resource to download if it is incompatible?

Or at least warn the user.

Probably it is too complicated to keep track of what resource is compatible with what version of the apps.

I made a 7 month CSB reading plan that I was supposed to begin tomorrow. I will probably have to bite the bullet and use the new app even though I hate the new font.
