On a macbook pro 13, after upgrading and doing the indexing, the home screen looks incomplete. The dashboard has one box and then a bunch of unused space next to it?

I see now there is a plus where i can add things. May I suggest some usability testing around this?

Are you referring to the empty state, the new card picker, or something else?

The empty state isn't our original design. We'd like to have more suggestions on first run eventually.

Did you find the new card menu difficult to find or difficult to use? If so, can you expound on your experience?

I should say I tend to be overly critical of these things; I have been a professional qa engineer for at least 8 years. Having said that, my thoughts were like this.

After installing I open the app and see the space. I wait for a data sync and close and reopen the app. I still see the blank space, see a media sync happen again, and stop and start the app again, not realizing this is by design.

I see the plus and think oh, I must be able to add things here. so I add a study bible to it.

Another interesting point is that if I go to add things like a course, since I have bought a few, it wont show them to me because they are already visible further down, so I can delete and re add them to bring things up top.

I am looking to use the my notes feature more, so hopefully that will be easily available.

I just in summary did not expect the space, and the only given clue was the plus sign.
