I believe that is something they said they are bringing in the future but I can't remember. But currently, no.

Right now it is just the Quickstart layouts that can be added. I would not be surprised to see custom saved layouts in a future release

I just discovered days ago that I could drag a saved layout to the toolbar at the top and create a shortcut to it there. Maybe that will give the easy access you're looking for.

I'm surprised it is not supported. Definatelly something I would find useful.

Personally saving layouts and guides directly to Favorites and having Favorites anchored to the home page is the most sensible way to go. I am having to save layouts and guides and then drag them to "favorites" at present creates a lot of double work. Saving them directly to favorites to an assigned folder is the best solution.

I honestly don't see how that's any easier than just using the Layouts icon at the top of the main window. Unless perhaps you keep Favorites open all the time (which I don't do). Maybe I'm missing something?

I don't see the advantage of doing it that way either, makes no sense to me.

I'm running the beta at the moment and am too lazy to bring up the current release, but I'm not sure what the fuss is about [;)]

No custom layouts when you select that option.

With favorites pinned to the left or right home page margin all your workflows, layouts, etc. can be saved there- I do it now- but without the advantage of having it pinned to my home page- organization is definitely enhanced with it being simplified and available- remember pinning it can be an option at the user’s discretion.

This would be a helpful feature.

One challenge may be Home page behaviour if users delete a layout that they had added as cards.

    Greetings Whyndell,

Glad to see you are no longer Gone.

Perhaps it was while you were gone gone that somebody replied that this facility is in the current Beta.

For me it isn't causing any problems but I'm sure you will understand why I imagine they are giving it a thorough test.

Unfortunately it seems that we can't quite get rid of all the text on the home page.

Just checking - do you mean "Dashboard" or "Explore"?

I ask because I seem to remember previous discussions focused around the Explore section.

I see that- but even if all it left was the word 'Dashboard" and a drop down for on or off- that would be preferable. I still believe having favorites as an option to "layouts" would create be better in the long run. If you use PG (which I do for almost everything) being able to save it as a layout "directly" into Favorites say as the same way you would a docx file- i.e. a PG on "Revelation 1:1-3" with all its resources (which could contain any number of other workflow components)- "save as layout" location "favorites" folder Revelation- folder "Passage Guide"- save.

That is about as intuitive as you can get- you have probably performed that task a million times since you began using a computer

Dashboard-  Explore" is done:) But have decided to leave "verse of the day and training videos" viewable for present.- to be fair in explanation of usage and changing of perspective a little.

How were you able to "pin" the favorites to the Home Page.  I tried dragging it from the tool bar at the top after I right-clicked Favorites in the Tools section and selected "Make a Toolbar Shortcut.  But when I dragged it to the Home page it opened up and everything else disappeared.

You can't presently that is a cut and paste job in "paint" to provided and example.

This is what one of my workspace layouts actually looks like when using:

As you can see this is why I prefer having favorites pinned to home page- I use 'favorites' to organize and store work- layouts is an additional step I believe could be eliminated and included in the process described above.

Organization and simplification- the older you get the more you appreciate it- don't put tabs or squeeze caps on my medicine bottles- ya know [:D]

I'm intrigued - but don't fully understand and would like to.

From your screenshot you have used Favorites extensively to organise / store things - looks really impressive.

But the screenshot also shows a layout that you are using.

What - in your model - is the advantage of being able to pin Favorites to the Homepage as opposed to Layouts (which we can't fully do at the moment)?

The layout is one of several i have drag/ dropped into the favorites- workf- Revelation folder- simply I woul love to save a PG directly into a favorites folder of chioce- as well as any other layout/ work spaces utilizing guides etc- just like you would a docx file in Word - save to - favorites- workflow- Revelation- PG- Revelation 16.1

You can do this today - dragging a PG to a Favorites folder creates a link to it there.

    What am I missing?

Sorry - I'm still not seeing the advantage of pinning a favorite over pinning a layout.

Are you able to clarify further?

    Thanks, Graham

Its a matter of preference- that's why I said at users discretion- its simply a couple steps less to do- since opening to home page is something I do- with favorites already opn and available I simply would choose to go directly to the layout preferred.

Layouts is not convenient- you cannot organize it the way you can favorites- and before you drag and drop to favorites you have to save it as a layout - that's a little redundant- and can be done away with by configuring Favorites to act as a main storage facility where things can be organized to users preferences..

Pretty much make pics show how it can be used- just think of it as performing in the same way as you saving a document or really anything else you save into Windows.

Unfortunately when I have tried this it loses all the open resources- yes the PG is saved but not the layout.

Also the other guides, exegetical, B person, B study, etc- unless they are saved as a layout- if you use certain resources these cannot be saved with the Guide without first saving it as a layout.

Once again a lot of redundancy- it would be better and give greater flexibility to be able to save it as a layout directly into a users work folder in Favorites. by having it placed on the Home page- when L8 is opened they have direct access to all their on going task.

    That's an interesting take...

I should point out that I never go to the home page for anything I need to actually do. I used to go (e.g. L7) to see what resources had been downloaded or what update had been applied; but that's no longer there. And I would go to see what someone was talking about in the forums. But on my own, to accomplish any task I need to do, never. If it completely disappeared and no one told me, I'd likely not know it. All the fuss about the L8 home page amazes me since I never use it. (As usual, I'm probably in the minority.)

That's why if all I had on the home page was the Favorites bar- perfect! all my work is saved there [:D]

I am obviously missing something but intrigued by your request I set about trying to check what I would do.

I opened a Favourites (SP) panel and saved it as a named layout.

I then went to Preferences and set 'Open to' to Favourites (SP)

Now Logos opens to a Panel with just my 'Favourites' panel open and the Home Page (should I ever want it is just a click away.

I what way does this not meet your expressed need?
