Highlighting in iOS app on iPad
I really like the functionality of the new app in every way, except one major one. Highlighting text has become a frustrating chore either with an Apple Pencil or with my finger. It always either switches to the resource open on either side of the resource I am trying to highlight, triggers a link nearby, or, on the few occasions when it actually begins to highlight, it ends up highlighting half the page as some sort of glitch. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or know of a fix or if one is in the works?

I do a lot of highlighting on my iPhone and iPad and seldom have issues. When I do it usually is because I roll my finger a bit and it selects text that I didn't want to select. One thing that I've been doing to help is simply reading with the font a bit larger so that it is easier to select the text. If your text is too small this may help.

I was thinking more about this when I was watching the sunset at the beach while reading on my phone. [H]
This sometimes happens to me if I don't do a "long press" on the first word and then drag to the end of the text I want to highlight. The key is to pause on that first word before starting to drag.

Just to finish this conversation here, you only get a definition when you do a long press and release. If you do a long press and drag it will highlight.
