edX have just started an introductory course on biblical archaeology that lasts for the next 8 weeks. It's free of charge. I've just completed the first 'week', and it looks very worthwhile. It's equivalent to a single semester course of about 2 hours a week, and is a mixture of well-made videos and some reading. Additional reading is also provided through PDFs you can download.
